COVID-19 Updates _____________________________________________________________________________
Guidelines: Updated on Tuesday January 12th
If you feel sick, please do not come to the races. If you’ve had COVID in the last 14 days or was exposed to someone who was then by all means stay home.
Riders are asked to wear masks while not racing and around others that are not in your household.
Do not shake hands, give congratulatory hugs and kisses, and fist bumping like we used to do.
Please practice social distancing while off the bike in the parking area, and everywhere on the event premises when you are not racing. Use your masks!
Results will not be printed for this event to avoid crowds at tables. All results will be posted online right after each category just like the normal printing process. There will still be a 15-minute protest period from when results are announced to be online. Results will be at www.topviewsports.com/crockett and also linked from davycrockettclassic.com/results
Podiums- we ask that there be no touching other riders as is normal practice at podiums. For the spectators taking pictures we ask that those people be more spread out to allow more room for everyone’s safety.
Please use the hand washing stations that are provided at or in the portable restrooms.
Please use hand sanitizer before and after visiting the registration area.
Please use social distancing of 6 feet between people in line at registration. The Registration area will be marked off to provide the visual of where to safely social distance.
Riders need to social distancing in the start area with masks. The Chief Ref will give the instruction to remove them prior to the start, and the start area will be marked to encourage distancing prior to the start. We are so happy that racing is back and lets all do our best to keep it safe and sustainable.
Race Notes: All included in the next several pages of this document, but we know you won’t read all the pages. So here are the notes in a nutshell. Don’t say we didn’t tell you.
You must have a current copy of you 2021 USAC RACING License in hand at REG. A pic on your phone is great.
Race Result Timing Chips will be used and are mandatory. Many Texas riders own their own chips but other riders will need to RENT a chip for the weekend for $10. This is a rental not a deposit. A credit card will be swiped as collateral but not charged unless you fail to return the chip after the races. For details on our chip return policy visit this link. http://www.topviewsports.com/timing-chip-return/
Please be sure to clean up after yourself/team/car area. Do not leave piles of trash. Find trash cans or take out your own trash.
Please bring your own water. We are not able to supply enough water for 500 racers each day. Plan ahead and bring water.
The Merckx Advantage in the Time Trial is common to our regulars but to the many out of state riders this is new territory. Read the details in this document for the rules. Please note that we will follow the rules to a tee. That’s the only way to make it fair. Any wheels over 50MM in depth will be classified as AERO no exceptions. We don’t care if they are your only wheels. If your wheels are over 50 then slap on some aero bars and shoe covers and go for it.
Be kind and courteous to other racers, officials, police, volunteers and race staff because it’s the right thing to do.

shortened version of the course that is 4 miles, everyone else will do the full course that is just under 8 miles (link on web-
site)

Merckx Advantage Time Trial Information
An exciting new way of scoring time trials that has been used by Topview Sports in other states with great success. The Merckx advantage
TT allows riders to choose whether or not they want to use aero gear or select ‘Merckx’ and get a time handicap. Riders electing to race
‘Merckx’ will get a 30 second time bonus deducted from their finish time.
How does it work? When you roll up to the TT start you must tell the starter if your are doing Merckx or not. IF you do not tell the
starter, then we will score you as aero!
Aero Gear Limitations for Merckx Advantage TT
-No aero bars, aero helmets, aero shoe covers, aero extensions of any kind
-Wheels are limited to 50mm rims or smaller, no disc wheels
-Allowed items—skinsuits, aero road helmets (non-teardrop shape, does not cover ears)

Overall Stage Race Scoring & Rules
The 2021 event will be scored as a time based stage race. The rankings will be
placed with lowest cumulative time between the three stages being the winner of
each category. Racers can still enter and race in individual stages outside of the
omnium. While racers do not have to start or finish each stage to participate, they
are required to finish all three in order to place in the stage race competition.
Benefits:
Stage Race Upgrade Points—since this race is scored as a stage race, racers
get the maximum allowable upgrade points for placing highly at this event
More value for TT—time based scoring increases significance of time trial
performance and value of breakaways in the other two stages
Stage Race Experience—for those aspiring racers, getting to race a stage race
is a unique experience that is not offered very often to amateur racers.
Overall Stage Race Competition Rules/Restrictions:
To be eligible to place in the overall competition you must start and
finish each stage.

tition
