This workshop is designed to help caregivers identify and address
the challenges of working with mixed age groups of children.
Strategies for meeting and understanding the needs of all
individuals in the group will be offered.

This workshop will help individuals in the use of basic sign language
for immediate communication and/or the preparation for teaching
children.
13-Breastfeeding Support in Child Care (HSN) 6:30pm-7:00pm-

covered includes importance of breastfeeding to children, mothers,
and child care programs. Topics will include benefits of
breastfeeding, risks of not breastfeeding, breastfeeding guide-
lines, and safe handling and storage of breast milk.
14-Including All Children and the Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA) (HSN) 6:30pm-9:30pm Ste. 129 $25 J. Chambers-Gain a
deeper understanding on the requirements of the ADA, inclusionary
practices based on national standards and best practices in early
childhood education and school-age programs. Local, state and
national resources will be discussed.
16-First Aid 8:30am-12:30pm Ste. 129 $30 Paramedical Personnel-
This is a nationally recognized program that meets the OSHA
standard for first aid training. Workshop includes: Good Samaritan,
emergency response, triage, patient exam, BSI, bleeding, shock,
burns, strains, sprains, fractures, splinting, spinal injury, medical
emergency, asthma, diabetic, seizure, allergic reaction, stroke,
poisoning, plants, bites, stings, heat, cold, and specific body injuries.
Meets Office of Child Care guidelines. Certification for First Aid
expires in two years.

Association Pediatric CPR program which includes Child CPR, Infant
CPR, Child Choking, Infant Choking. This program also deals with

phrases as often as you can. This class is to train individuals in the
use of basic sign language for immediate communication and/or the

27-Bullying in Preschool (CD) 6:30pm-9:30pm Windsor Christian
$25 A. Sibiski - Understanding why children become bullies and how
to stop the cycle of bulling. Proactive strategies for dealing with
bullies and getting victims to open up as well as designing a policy
regarding bulling behaviors are addressed.
28-Encouraging Language and Literacy from the Dollar Store (CU)

the dollar store? If you answered YES, then this workshop is for
you. You will learn how to use items found at the dollar store to
engage children in activities to enhance language and literacy in your

A. Sibiski-Everyday activities that offer opportunities to learn
about science will be shared in this workshop. Your budding
scientists will be captivated as they experience science and the role
it plays in our everyday lives.
5-SIDS 9:30am –11:30am Ste. 129 $20 J. Edwards -In this workshop, you will
learn about safe sleep environments to help reduce the risk for SIDS and other
infant death.
6-First Aid 8:30am-12:30pm Ste. 129 $30 Paramedical Personnel-
This is a nationally recognized program that meets the OSHA
standard for first aid training. Workshop includes: Good Samaritan,
emergency response, triage, patient exam, BSI, bleeding, shock,
burns, strains, sprains, fractures, splinting, spinal injury, medical
emergency, asthma, diabetic, seizure, allergic reaction, stroke,
poisoning, plants, bites, stings, heat, cold, and specific body injuries.
Meets Office of Child Care guidelines. Certification for First Aid
expires in two years.

Sibiski-Biting can be one of the most challenging behaviors
caregivers face. Working together, parents and educators can
identify reasons for a child's biting and respond accordingly. We will
discuss strategies to teach children age-appropriate ways to control
themselves and take the proper measures to prevent further
incidents.

individual needs , development needs and how child care teachers can help.
In-class sessions will cover opportunities to observe and work with children,
identifying developmentally appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, activities and
the daily operation of a child care center.

an understanding of how learning disabilities look in pre-school aged
children. ‘Walk in the shoes’ of children with learning disabilities, as
well as learn the most common forms and signs of LD.

designed for caregivers to become familiar with COMAR regulations
regarding emergency and disaster preparedness for child care
programs. Participants will complete a written emergency and
disaster plan for their child care program; gain an understanding of
disasters that are most likely to occur in Maryland and know why
child care programs should prepare for emergencies and disasters.
This workshop meets the 6-hour COMAR requirement effective
July 1, 2010, for centers, family providers, and family child care
applicants.

Workshop Registration Information Workshops are approved for training credit by the MSDE Office of Child Care Credentialing Branch
Registrations. ALL workshop participants must pre-register; meaning, participants must register AND PAY for workshops in advance. Registration is accepted by phone, mail, or in person. The training line for
phone-in registration is operational from 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Visa or Mastercard required for all registrations done by phone. Mail registration form to Child Care Links, Inc., 1101 North Point Boulevard, Suite 112, Baltimore, MD 21224 Attn: Registration Office. Child Care Links does not accept personal checks .
Fees paid are NON-REFUNDABLE. Should you miss a workshop, credit or transfer to another workshop may be given if Child Care Links is notified prior to the workshop. If after hours, please leave a message on CCL’s answering service. No credit or refunds are issued for “no shows”. Call 410-288-5942 with any questions or concerns about our refund or credit policies. Any credits issued are good for one year from
date of issue.
Late arrivals. Workshops begin at the stated time. Our instructors reserve the right to refuse admittance to any workshop for any participant arriving 15 minutes or more past the start of the workshop. Credit or
transfer will be issued at the discretion of Child Care Links staff for any participant turned away from training for lateness.
Cancellation and change policy. Child Care Links reserves the right to change the location, class size, or trainer for any class as deemed necessary. Child Care Links also may need to occasionally cancel a work-
shop due to a lack of enrollment; in this event, a CCL staff member will contact you at the phone number or address you provided upon registration. If we need to cancel a workshop and you do not wish to be
transferred to another training, you will be issued credit good for one year or refunded fees paid for the canceled workshop. If you are phoning in your registration please verify that we have the correct contact information, including more than one telephone number where you can be reached.
Rude and/or disrespectful behavior during workshops will not be tolerated. Please remember to exercise good judgment and respect for both the trainer and other participants in your session. It is okay to disa-gree with facts or opinions presented by the trainer or other participants but please remember to remain professional. Should you violate this policy, the instructor may ask you to leave the workshop and you will
not be re-admitted, nor will you receive a refund for the class.
Certificates. Core of Knowledge certificates will be issued at the conclusion of the training session for all participants who successfully complete all requirements set forth for the course. There will be a $5
charge for replacement training certificates .
Child care is not provided during workshops. Workshops provided by Child Care Links are intended for adults only. Please make other arrangements for care of your children during workshop hours.
Workshop locations. The majority of workshops are held at the CCL main office, 1101 North Point Boulevard, Suites 112 & 129. Should your workshop be held at an off-site location, you will be notified upon or at registration of the address and directions.
Inclement Weather Policy. Please note that the training department of Child Care Links follows the Baltimore County Public School Systems inclement weather policy for closings and delayed openings. If you are scheduled for a workshop and Baltimore County schools close for inclement weather, our workshop will be canceled. During the weekend our workshops will be canceled if Baltimore County Rec’s and Parks
cancel activities workshops will be cancelled. If, for any reason, this changes, a CCL staff member will contact you. Attempts will be made to reschedule any canceled workshop.

meets every Saturday for 7 1/2 weeks - Ste. 112- $300 fee includes book. Instructor: Laurie Moran -This
course satisfies the requirement for 45 hours of Infant/Toddler development required by the State of Maryland
for Child Care Teacher Infant & Toddler (formerly Senior Staff) and Directors in child care centers licensed for
infants and toddlers under two years of age. $150.00 non-refundable deposit is due upon registration. Balance is
due by the end of the last class.
90 Hour Young Child Certification Course Begins Wednesday, February 24, 2016 6:30 pm-9:30 pm Note: This
course meets every Monday and Wednesday for 15 weeks - CCL Ste. 129 - $500 fee includes book.Instructor:
Esther Chapman -Designed to satisfy the 90 hour requirement as stated in COMAR 07.04.01 for directors and
child care preschool teachers (formally called senior staff) in group child care centers. Course provides student
with in-depth view of the child, who she/he is, the individual needs, development needs and how child care teachers
can help. In-class sessions will cover opportunities to observe and work with children, identifying developmentally
appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, activities and the daily operation of a child care center. $250.00 non-
refundable deposit is due upon registration. Balance is due by the end of the last
class.
