WALMART’S GAME-CHANGING INNOVATION APPROACH
Stephen Quinn, EVP and Chief Marketing Officer, will share Walmart’s approach to game-changing innovation and how he and his team are innovating for success. He will touch on how Walmart is leading from the front with key initiatives like “SoLoMo” (social, local and mobile), real-time marketing, multicultural marketing, and their “Apps Not Ads” philosophy. In addition Stephen will speak about how his team has reinvented the creative model for speed, content and low cost, and removed non-value added components in the marketing value chain.

He will also share lessons learned from the journey and some general thoughts on innovation from spending over 18 years in marketing innovation roles.

BRAND BUILDING INNOVATION IN A DIGITAL WORLD
Alex Tosolini of P&G and Alan Godfrey of Bazaarvoice will discuss how P&G brands connect with consumers. By using Bazaarvoice’s innovative solutions, P&G is able to harness the voice of the consumer to spark digital conversations, channel content into places where it influences purchase and gather business insights that allow them to act on what consumers want. They will share insights from P&G’s journey to move beyond one-way monologue in brand building and demonstrate the power of word of mouth on the path to purchase.

Barry Calpino Vice President Breakthrough Innovation Kraft Foods Group
Barry is vice president of breakthrough innovation at Kraft Foods Group, leading innovation across the KFG BU teams. He has been at Kraft since 2009 and has over 19 years of CPG brand marketing experience, with 13 of those years spent mostly or entirely focused on leading innovation. Barry has also worked for SC Johnson, Kellogg’s and Wrigley. He led gum and candy innovation for North America prior to coming to Kraft. Barry has an undergraduate degree in marketing from Marquette and his MBA from Kellogg-Northwestern. He is originally from Chicago and resides there today, where he is married with three kids.
Ami Anderson Director of Marketing Excellence, Health Partnerships and Platforms General Mills Inc.
Ami Anderson is the director of General Mills marketing excellence, health partnerships and platforms. She is responsible for all marketing training programs, creating the framework for brand building and campaign development, the first Wednesday Speaker Series, benchmarking best practices, and the Brand Champion’s Portal (an internal web platform for information sharing). Ami is also in charge of the health and wellness platforms including LiveBetterAmerica.com and our external partnerships with Weight Watchers, The Biggest Loser, etc. Ami has been in this role for six years but has been a marketer at General Mills since 1994, having worked on brands such as Pop Secret, Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Honey Nut Clusters cereals. Prior to working at General Mills, Ami worked in consumer promotions at Kraft Foods in New York. She also served in both marketing and sports promotion positions for Philip Morris, Inc. in New York City and Munich, Germany. Ami graduated magna cum laude from Franklin Pierce College in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and received her MBA in marketing from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1994. She has been a guest lecture there for over 15 years. She is a native New Yorker who spends her free time cheering on her kid’s sports team.

Mariann Coleman is the director of global agency relations and performance in Intel Corporation’s corporate marketing group headquartered in Santa Clara, California. She is responsible for overseeing Intel’s global agency lifecycle process including selection, on-boarding, scope of work definition, contracts, annual training, score card process, performance metrics and compensation. Mariann has been with Intel for 15 years and has held a number of other marketing positions. Prior to Intel, Mariann held a variety of marketing positions at Philips Electronics including manager, marketing communications at Philips Electronics’ semiconductors division where she was oversaw marketing in North America. She earned a bachelor of science degree at Clarkson University. Mariann is an active member in the World Federation of Advertisers and the Association of National Advertisers.

Alan Godfrey General Manager North American Retail Bazaarvoice
Alan brings over 25 years of information technology experience focused on enterprise technology and application service providers to the Bazaarvoice leadership team. As general manager, Alan is responsible for the success and growth of Bazaarvoice’s retail, travel, and automotive clients, overseeing the vision, strategy, and approach to the North American Retail vertical. While at Bazaarvoice, Alan has led the client services teams and managed the integration of the PowerReviews acquisition. Prior to joining Bazaarvoice in 2011, Alan held senior roles at Lombardi Software (an IBM company) both in the US and UK focusing on European market penetration, strategic account development, channel and distribution strategies, and new product positioning and launch programs. He has also held senior roles at Bearing Point, Mediaprise, Netpliance/TippingPoint, pcOrder.com, and Sterling Information Group. Alan graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s in computer science and mathematics.

Tracy Palmer Director, Brand and Advertising Sprint
Tracy Palmer joined Sprint in 1999 in the marketing communications organization as an affiliate advertising manager. Her core responsibility was to partner and manage the Affiliate Communications to ensure overall integration with the Sprint brand, while allowing for flexibility in communications for the local markets. Today, Tracy oversees the Sprint brand and advertising organization. Her team is responsible for developing brand strategy and creative assets for all Consumer, Business, Sponsorships and Hispanic communications. She is also responsible for developing integrated marketing campaigns across both online and offline channels while partnering with the web organization to ensure integrated messaging across site and mobile experiences. Prior to Sprint, Tracy spent six years in marketing with Harrah’s Casino Entertainment. Tracy is a graduate of the University of Central Missouri with a degree in business administration and public relations. And while always a Missouri girl at heart, she now happily resides in Leawood, Kansas with her husband, two year old daughter and an oversized orange cat.
Stephen Quinn Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Walmart Stores, Inc.
Stephen Quinn joined Walmart in 2005 and became executive vice president and chief marketing officer in January 2007. He is responsible for all aspects of Walmart’s marketing effort including customer research, strategy, program development, branding and customer communications. Prior to joining Walmart, Quinn was chief marketing officer of PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay North America division. During 13 years at PepsiCo, he served in a number of marketing roles including innovation, brand management, advertising, market research and customer marketing. Prior to that, Quinn worked in marketing, sales and finance roles for Quaker Oats, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble and Nortel. He has managed several leading brands including Tylenol, Johnson’s Baby Products, Quaker Oats, Aunt Jemima, Lay’s, Tostitos, Doritos, Great Value, Equate and Walmart. Quinn earned an MBA from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario and a BA in economics from Queens University, Canada. He is chairman of the Board of Directors of The Association Of National Advertisers (ANA), and a Board member of The Ad Council, Give Kids The World and The ALS Association of Northwest Arkansas. He lives in Bentonville, Arkansas with his wife, Linda Quinn. Together they have two grown children.

Pam Strifler Vice President, U.S. Marketing Monsanto Company
Pam Strifler is vice president, U.S. marketing at Monsanto Company. In this role, she is responsible for developing and leading the marketing strategy for Monsanto Company’s U.S. row crop business. Prior to this role, Pam was the business director for the regional seed brands. Pam joined Monsanto in 1996 as director of marketing for dairy, with subsequent roles as commercial development manager animal agriculture, U.S. marketing operations lead and director of customer operations. Pam and her husband Ray reside in Webster Groves, Missouri.

Alex Tosolini Vice President, Global E-Business Procter & Gamble
Alex has been with P&G for over 22 years, working across all the key business units of household care, beauty & grooming, and health & well-being. His assignments have spanned many categories and geogra-phies in both global business units and market development organizations. He has held positions in the UK, Hungary, Belgium, Poland and the USA. More recently he was general manager of Poland and the Baltic States from 2003-2007, and then the vice president of fabric care for North America until 2010. Following that Alex took on the role to lead the company’s global e-business which is part of P&G’s overall channel strategy to ‘be wherever consumers shop.’ He is responsible for setting up an organization to deliver on that strategy. Alex is a native of Italy and holds a business degree from Bocconi/NYU University. He speaks Italian and English and is married with two children.
Doug Willmarth Chief Marketing Officer Rave Cinemas
Doug is the chief marketing officer for Rave Cinemas, a leading movie theater chain, with theaters in 21 states. In his role, he is responsible for leading consumer strategy and marketing. Doug joined Rave in early 2012 to elevate Rave’s marketing programs and develop an industry leading digital ecommerce platform to drive increase attendance and loyalty. Prior to Rave Cinemas, Doug worked as National Marketing Director for Pizza Hut, where he was responsible for driving top line growth for the business by developing and executing the national marketing calendar. Prior to Pizza Hut, Doug held senior marketing and innovation roles with Frito Lay, America’s largest Snack Food Company, and Chili’s, a leading casual dining restaurant chain. Before his business career, Doug served nine years as a Naval Officer and Helicopter Aviator, receiving three awards of the Navy Commendation Medal for distinguished service. He was a distinguished graduate of his MBA class from San Diego State University, and received his bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of California, San Diego. Doug resides in McKinney, Texas with his wife Melissa and their five children. His hobbies include coaching, serving in the community, and marathon running.
