Membership

• All-Time High for Total PGA members at the End of FY11– This is a Result of High Numbers of Apprentices

Registering 4+ Years Ago• Apprentice Registration Trend Follows

Staffing Needs of PGA-Staffed Facilities– Currently at 25-Year Low in Total Apprentices– Apprentice Registration has Declined

5 Consecutive Years– Expect to Reverse Trend with Slightly Higher

Apprentice Registration This Fiscal Year

Membership

• Feb 1, 2012 Members = 22,832 (+244 Increase over Feb 1, 2011) 

• Apprentices = 4,405 (-480 Decrease)

• Total = 27,237 (-236 Net Decrease)

• PGA Golf Management University Students = 2,320 (-65 Net Decrease) 

New MSR Requirements• New Requirements Give PGA Members

More Flexibility and Choice

• New Credit Requirements: – 54 Total Credits– 36 Must Come from PGA Meeting/Education

and/or Golf 2.0/Player Development

• Other Means of Obtaining Credits Toward the Total Requirement Remain per the Prior Program

• All Credits for Any Category Must be Earned via Activities that Allow for Automated Crediting through PGA Systems to Streamline the Administration of the Professional Development Program

New MSR Requirements• PGA Meeting/Education:

– Credit Category for Meetings and PGA-Delivered Education (Chapter, Section, National) Are Now Combined and All Will be Awarded 1 Credit Per Hour of Participation

– Other Education Provided by Sources Outside of The PGA will Apply to the Total

– Any Gathering of Members Organized by a Section, Chapter or National – Whether for Governance, Education or Both – Will be Treated the Same Way

– A Section Meeting with 3 Hours of Business Meetings And 2 Hours of Education is Now Worth 5 Meeting/Education Credits (Versus 6 Meeting Credits and 2 Education Credits in Previous Cycle)

New MSR Requirements

• Golf 2.0/Player Development:– Credits for Golf 2.0/Player Development

Will be Earned via Reporting Actual Creation, Activation and Engagement of Golfers into the Programming that Supports Golf 2.0 Initiatives and/or Education and Training on the Strategic Plan, Its Initiatives and Related Program Administration

– Green Grass, Non-Green Grass and Executive-Level PGA Members Can Meet This Requirement by Becoming Knowledgeable about Golf 2.0, Its Strategic Initiatives and Programs

• PGA is Aligning All Education Programs with the Goals of Golf 2.0

• CPP 2.0 Launched at 59th PGA Merchandise Show– Golf Operations and General Management
