Mrs. Diana’s Pre-K Class

Spring Unit-Week 30

March 31, 2017We are so excited to announce that we have 9 lady painted butterflies. We are crossing our fingers for our last one to hatch. Next week, we will release our butterflies. Speaking of butterflies, our little ones made tissue paper butterflies, very hungry caterpillars, spring chicks and Easter eggs. We have been really busy.

We will start our CLI testing for the end of the year the second week in

April and should finish on May 5th. The test will consist of letters, numbers,

rhyming, syllables, word counting and other different aspects. The children

have shown tremendous improvement.

Pre-K Easter Egg Hunt will be Tuesday, April 11th. Each child will need to bring a dozen plastic eggs filled with individually wrapped candy. Please do not send chocolate. Your child will also need to bring a basket so they can put their eggs in during the hunt. Mrs. Jordan and I will provide the pizza, drinks and a snack for our children. We would like volunteers to help hide the eggs before the hunt. If you could please start sending your child’s eggs we would appreciate it. We will leave school at 9:30 a.m. and start our hunt at 9:50 a.m. We will eat lunch around 11:00 a.m.

We will have our end of the year field trip on Thursday, May 4th to the Athens Fishery. The children will need a sack lunch and two drinks. We will send out more information as time approaches. Thank you.

Kindergarten transition meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 11th. Mrs. Castleberry is a kindergarten teacher and she will go over some key points to look forward to for next year. There is a lot of good information given. I strongly recommend going especially if you have never had a child in kindergarten.

Happy 5th
