CARDIFF CITY STADIUM12.08.2014
Welcome messageDear supporters,
I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of UEFA and the European football family, to welcome you to Cardiff for the 2014 UEFA Super Cup match between Real Madrid CF and Sevilla FC.
This all-Spanish encounter between the respective winners of the 2013/14 UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League is set to be a memorable occasion to herald the start of the 2014/15 European club competition season. Both clubs are previous winners of the UEFA Super Cup, and will certainly be keen to capture the trophy again, especially with national pride at stake.
It is fitting that the Welsh city of Cardiff and its impressive Cardiff City Stadium is staging such a showpiece event. Wales and its people have a great passion for sport, and Cardiff itself is a splendid city, with its historical landmarks, innovative architecture and unique atmosphere.
Cardiff certainly has something for everyone, and I am sure that the supporters of both clubs will enjoy their stay. Let us also hope that the 2014 UEFA Super Cup match is one to remember as we head into a new season. The best of luck to the two teams – and I hope that you enjoy the match!
