Finnish Wellbeing Center Project, goals
City of Sendai, Japan had a plan to build a Wellbeing Center, specializing in the needs of the ageing population, with help of foreign companies and elderly care experts. Finland became the partner through Finnish Wellbeing Center Project.
•Goal was to design a comprehensive well-being center, which represents Finnish architectural design and Finnish health care and well-being services but is compatible with the Japanese culture. The center’s operations provide the latest nursing technologies both in the center and at home.
•Apart from the Care Unit the project also included plans for a Research and Development Unit that will enable fruitful co-operation between Finnish and Japanese researchers and companies engaged in activities related to welfare of older people.
