“DoIT” aims at the core of Tempus, the Reform of Higher Education through International University Cooperation, targeting important national priority of Turkmenistan. The Project is also timely, as explained in the background information provided of TM.
The positive aspects of systemic internationalisation of TM HEIs have been analysed, so as its impact both in Teaching and Learning and also in Research and Innovation, another important aspect of the University life but still a pending issue in TM.
The Project has created the administrative structures within the Universities that deal with internationalisation in a professional way in Western Europe - the OIRs. It has transfer the necessary know-how through an extensive training of its future staff.
As stated, a systemic and phased approach to internationalisation of HEIs of TM is the engine driving the Workplan that has been prepared.
Project Summary
To contribute to the systemic improvement of the HE system as a whole in Turkmenistan, in terms of Teaching and Learning, and Research and Development, by means of showing the potential in internationalisation, and how to manage it successfully.
To expose HE system of TM to the ideas that are at the base of the EU HE Area
WIDER OBJECTIVES
To improve through internationalisation in TM HEIs teaching and learning, management, research and innovation.
To set up IROs adequately staffed and equipped .
To train staff in all necessary aspects of internationalisation In cooperation with the Ministry of Education of TM: to
develop national recommendations, to establish and promote closer links between EU and TM universities, to set up a Network of Internationalisation
To provide appropriate dissemination and sustainability
