“I say to you, whatever you bind on earth, shall be
bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Mt 18:15-20
Two weeks ago the Gospel had Jesus saying the same
words to Peter, bestowing the Ministry of Reconcilia-
tion. The entire Body of Christ has been given power
to forgive sins and be instruments of healing in our
world. All those in communion with our Hoy Father
share in the same gift and responsibility. We must
first recognize the sickness of SIN in the world and in
our brothers and sisters, then help them to accept the
healing presence of the Lord. We are not to judge or
condemn, but rather be like a medical doctor who is
anxious to bring healing to others.
Jesus calls us to let our light shine so that all might
see our good actions and give praise to God. Our
world is filled with bad news, fill your life and that of
those around you with “Good News” Practice seeing
and sharing the joys of life. When we are stressed we
are generally focused on ourselves, afraid of some-
thing in the future. Place those fears in the Lord’s
hands and when you sense the freedom of the Chil-
dren of God, share that joy with others.
SIN is unhealthy living, through which we sorry our-
selves sick, the most common sic is doing nothing,
therefore approach the light of Christ, shine in that
light, be freed and be an instrument of health and
freedom to others. If there is the need for Sacramental
Reconciliation (“Confession”) do something—go to
confession and be freed! Shine in the freedom and
light of Christ, be one in the reconciliation of the
World. GK

tal (“Confesión” ) haga algo—vaya a confesarse y sea
liberado!

Did You Know?
It is recommended to make sure your
children’s school is a safe place
Every teacher, coach, and volunteer who works with children
in the Archdiocese’s parishes and schools must have a back-
ground check before he or she is permitted to work in any
school or parish related job or activity that involves contact
with children. But what about the children who attend non-
Catholic private or public schools? Talk with school adminis-
trators and find out what steps they take to protect children
from harm. Suggest that they review other abuse prevention
programs to ensure that their policies and practices are up to
date. And demand that all employees and volunteers who
work in the school be properly screened, including back-
ground checks, before they are allowed to be near your chil-
dren.
Parish Center Entrance.
Anyone visiting our parish will ask where the Parish
Offices are, and even when instructed, will frequently
not easily find the entrance to the offices. In order to
make the Parish Offices more inviting we have placed
planters in three of the parking spaces, and will install
glass doors (similar to those in the present book store);
move the statue of St. Joseph that is presently in the
front of the church to an area at the entrance and place
benches in the entrance “Garden”.
