BARGA

One of the ethnicities that settles in the east side of Mongolia is Barga.

DARKHAD

Darkhad is descendants of forest inhabitants who inhabited in the north side of Mongolia.

This ethnicity is formed with the combination of groups of Mongol and Turkic tribes.

BURYATBuryat people wear hats with conical tops.

Women’s costumes have lapels with narrow edgings and hems with dark colored bordering.

Shoes are made of cattle leather.

BAYADBayad men wear white garment lined with sheepskin.

Women’s costumes have white cotton lapels. Their shoes are seamed with camel woolen stitches and made with double-layered bottoms.

DARIGANGA

Dariganga ethnic group settles in Sukhbaatar province

They are famous with their great talent in herding techniques and crafting and sculpturing.

DORBET

Dorbet people generally wear silver accessories.

Dorbet women costumes have white loose, and folded lapels.

A sole of a shoe is made without felt, but with leather.

KHALKHA

KHALKHAKhalkha ethnicity has its own unique dressings and costumes, named Deel.

As for men’s costume, the lapel is loose and its edging is single-layered, the sleeve is broad and long, and the back hem is broader than the front one.

Khalkha women chiefly wear the costume, which made of colorful silk and with big shoulder and long sleeve.

KAZAKH

Kazakh is the big ethnic group originated from Turkic tribe.

In modern times, Kazakh group is officially considered as one of Mongolian ethnicities.

HOTON

Hoton is the Turkic tribe that had mixed with Dorbet people, 200 years ago.

MYANGAD

Ancestors of Myangad people were one of the groups that inhabited in the forest by the river and got by domesticating reindeers and hunting animals.

OOLD

Oold is one of the ethnic groups of Oirda Mongol tribe.

They are the descendants of survivors from Oold war.

TORGUT

Torgut men used to wear the hat named khalvan, but nowadays they use it only during the traditional dance ceremony.

Torgut costumes have loose sleeves and long hems.

URIANKHAI

Uriankhai is the ethnic group in west Mongolia.

Their ancestors are the hunters who had lived in southern Mongolia for many years.

ZAKHCHIN

Zakhchin is one division of Oirda Mongol.

Their ancestors were peacekeepers along the border of East Mongolia Kingdom.

UZEMCHIN

Uzemchin is the ethnic group that settle in Western Mongolia.

Eastern Uzemchins live in Dornod province, whereas Western Uzemchins live in Sukhbaatar province.
