Problem Statement

Facebook users often complain about the intrusiveness of Facebook games —

mainly via the notifications that get sent out, as well as the posts that may appear in

News Feed. We had to propose changes to any part(s) of Facebook to help improve

the overall experience for players and non-players alike.

Who is affected?

Advertisers

Gamers

Non-gamers

Why do they get affected?

Advertisers-advertise to the right group

Gamers-friends that are playing similar

games/games of interest

Non-gamers-spammed by notifications of

low interest

Ideation and Sketching

Cumulative Notification

Iteration 1: Combined notification

Iteration 2: Notification moved to right hand panel

Limitations

User visits game

interface→ views games of

no interest

Advantages

Non-gamers- No unnecessary notifications

Gamers - Recommended friend’s list (other

gamers) improves probability of getting

their requests accepted=improve gaming

experience

Advertisers - optimize audience base

Thank you!!
