WHY YOU NEED SOFT SKILLS

SO, BRUSH UP ON THOSE SOFT SKILLS

SCENARIO 1• Kelley is clearly upset and needs to be removed from the situation.

• Why? She is making a scene and needs to take a moment.

• Kelley doesn’t want to be viewed as someone that cannot hold it together personally or professionally.

• By taking a moment to gain her composure, she is able to be show others that she is capable of keeping her emotions in check and being a professional.

SCENARIO 2• Pamela has to put aside her differences and work with Emma on this project.

• Pamela can even have an honest conversation with Emma in a tactful manner that doesn’t cause more problems and let her know that they can work together.

• She doesn’t need to tell her boss that she cannot or will not work with Emma because that will only make her look bad!

• She needs to have a positive attitude and do all that she can to be a professional in this situation.

• It’s okay to not like someone on a personal level, but it’s not okay to let it interfere with work.

SCENARIO 3• Dr. Shepherd needs to get a calendar asap to write down his schedule.

• He also needs to make sure that he can handle all the appointments that he has and ask for help if he needs it.

• Maybe he can switch snack days with his friend Dr. Callie Torres.

• Dr. Shepherd can also make sure that he is setting his alarm and getting up on time.

• He can also prioritize his activities.

• All of these things will help him be in balance and get him on a schedule.

• This way he can manage his time better!
