Philosophy

Philosophy has two roots, philos and sophy. The root philos means love and sophy means wisdom so there for philosophy means the Love of wisdom. It has been around since ancient times and is still taught and used today.

What is Philosophy?

The first philosopher was thought to be Thales of Miletus. He was born in 624 B.C.E. in Turkey and died in 546 B.C.E. He is famous for his intercept theory and Water as a first principal theory.

The First Philosopher

The Chinese were the second society to widely use philosophy. There main philosophies were Daoism(used in the Han dynasty), Confucianism(used in the Zhou dynasty) and Legalism(used in the Qin dynasty). Daoism is peaceful, Confucianism has laws with fair punishments and legalism is very strict and harsh.

Chinese Philosophy

Greek PhilosophyAncient Greece was one of the best places

to find philosophical thinking. They had many greats in philosophy such as Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. They made schools that were some of the greatest of there times. They also challenged society to think about things they had never considered.

Philosophy is very important to understanding human nature and everything around us. Philosophy looks to part of things most people ignore. Without it some stuff that seem obvious now would be perplexing. In conclusion philosophy is essintial to are lives and to human nature.
