Genre: Electronic Type of Video: NarrativePurpose of Video: The purpose of the film is to promote Avicii’s new song and also to tell a story.What's Inspirational? – I like the creativity of the story in the video and how it links to the lyrics of the song.

BMTH – Throne

Genre: Metal Type of Video: Performance, Conceptual Purpose of Video: Purpose of the video is to promote BMTH’s new song and also to pair up with the song and the lyrics with its themes. The theme is quite dark and there is a sort of medieval theme.What's Inspirational? - I like how the band has combined elements of performance and conceptual videos to create a more interesting video. Theres a good balance between shots of the band and then other things that relate to the dark theme of the video.

Genre: Rap Type of Video: Narrative, Performance Purpose of Video: Purpose of the video is to promote Eminem's new song, and its also used to tell a story in Eminem's life and his experiences In his career.What's Inspirational? - Much like Eminems other song (Rap God) the video is quite futuristic.

Genre: PopType of Video: Performance, Narrative Purpose of Video: Purpose of the video is to promote Bruno Mars as an artist and promote his song but also to act out and tell a story. What's Inspirational? – Its good how the video and story in the video links to the lyrics of the song. Its also good how simple but affective the video is.

Genre: PopType of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: To promote Katy Perry’s song and to promote her as an artist. What's Inspirational? – The Mise-En-Scene is really interesting and creative which makes the video really interesting to watch.

Mumford and Sons – The Cave

Genre: Folk Music Type of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: The purpose of the Video is to promote the Band and their song What's Inspirational? – I like how simple the video is, the band just drive around on bikes the whole video but I like how its still interesting and some editing techniques and camera shots makes it good.

Charles Hamilton – New York

Genre: Rap/PopType of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: To promote Rita Ora and Charles Hamilton as Artists as well as promote the song. It also tells a storyWhat's Inspirational? – I like how the video is in Black and White throughout the whole video. It tells a story of racism in the US and relates well to the lyrics of the song.

Chiddy Bang – Manners

Genre: Rap/ PopType of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: To promote Chiddy Bang and their song What's Inspirational? – Like many of the other videos the video is simple but interesting. It shows people dancing and partying. Different editing techniques and Shots make it interesting to watch.

Genre: Pop/RapType of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: To promote Robin Thicke and Flo Rida. To promote the song What's Inspirational? – I like that the videos simple and interesting however there is maybe too much of the artists in here and maybe using some more conceptual techniques could help it be more interesting to watch.

Ed Sheeran – The A Team

Genre: Pop Type of Video: Narrative Purpose of Video: To tell a story, to promote Ed Sheeran and his song What's Inspirational? – The Video is very simple and shoot with an average camera. I like how its all in Black and White and does try and do too much with the video.

Goodbye Mr A – The Hoosiers

Genre: PopType of Video: Conceptual, Narrative, Performance Purpose of Video: To tell a story of Mr A, a teacher who taught the lead singer and to promote the band and their Song What's Inspirational? I like how the band used cartoons in the video which isn’t used very much and is different. The mise on scene in the video is good and the band uses aspects from every category of music videos.

5SOS – She Looks so Perfect

Genre: RockType of Video: Performance, Purpose of Video: To promote the Band who were new and upcoming at the time and to promote their song.What's Inspirational? The video is simple and mainly shows the band performing but there is also a story behind the video and the song lyrics relate to a part of the video.

Gotye – Somebody I used to know

Genre: Pop Type of Video: Performance, Conceptual Purpose of Video: To promote Gotye and their song What's Inspirational? I like how this video is different to all the other videos on this list. I like the idea of slowly painting the artists and the creativity in the video is good and different.

Lethal Bizzle – Fester Skank

Genre: RapType of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: To promote Lethal Bizzle and his song What's Inspirational? – In the song Lethal Bizzle poses with objects in the lyrics from his song which makes the video interesting and entertaining. For example he is seen on a toy Lamborghini which is in the lyrics.

Justin Bieber – Beauty and the Beat

Genre: Pop/ RapType of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: To promote the song and promote the artists (Bieber and Minaj) What's Inspirational? I like how the whole video is filmed by the Artists themselves. They carry around a camera on a selfie stick and film the whole video on their own which is different and creative.

Katy Perry – Last Friday Night

Genre: Pop Type of Video: Performance, Narrative Purpose of Video: To promote Katy Perry and her new song What's Inspirational? I like the mise on scene and the interesting colours and setting in the video. I also like how the lyrics and the video link up.

George Ezra – Listen to the Man

Genre: Folk Type of Video: performance Purpose of Video: To promote George Ezra and his song. Also to promote Ian Mckellen who is a famous Actor.What's Inspirational? The Video is very simple but I like how Ian McKellen is in the video with George singing and I also like how the green screen behind them ads a bit more interest and colour to the video. It is easy to re create and perform.

I like how the video tells a story and links to the lyrics of the song. The mise on scene and camera shots are good and its easy to see what Katy Perry is trying to achieve.

Genre: Rap Type of Video: Perfromance Purpose of Video: To promote Macklemore and to promote his song What's Inspirational? The video is quite simple and quite easy to re create or perform. Its also very simple but interesting.

Genre: Electronic/ Pop Type of Video: Performance, Conceptual Purpose of Video: To promote Jack U and Justin Bieber, To promote their new song What's Inspirational? I like how the video used cartoon drawings and art around justin Bieber to make the video interesting and creative. Its very different because of the art.

N****s in Paris – Jay Z ft Kanye West

Genre: Rap Type of Video: Performance, Conceptual Purpose of Video: To promote Kanye West and Jay Z, to promote their new song What's Inspirational? I like how the video is quite different and unusual. The video uses different editing techniques which can be seen in the picture where the screen is doubled. Much like throne by BMTH the theme is quite dark.

Genre: Rap Type of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: To promote Eminem and his new song What's Inspirational? I like how Eminem used really interesting and different editing techniques. As you can see in the picture Eminem uses different colourful backgrounds and also makes the video quite futuristic.

Charlie Puth – See you Again

Genre: Pop/ RapType of Video: Performance, Narrative Purpose of Video: To promote fast and Furious 7, to promote Charlie Puth and Wiz Khalifa, to promote their song What's Inspirational? I like how the video uses scenes from the fast and furious film to link the lyrics and the actions in the film. Also how even the setting and mise en scene links to the film.

Maroon 5 – Sugar

Genre: Pop Type of Video: Performance, Conceptual Purpose of Video: To promote Maroon 5 and their new song What's Inspirational? I like how the video is really different to every other video, the band perform and almost crash weddings to surprise everyone.

Kanye West - Love Lockdown

Genre: RapType of Video: Performance, Conceptual Purpose of Video: To promote Kanye West, to promote his new song What's Inspirational? I like how there’s quite a lot of randomness in the video. The lyrics and video don’t link but the vdeo is creative and shows lots of different types of camera shots, lighting and editing.

Arctic Monkeys - R U Mine?

Genre: Rock / Pop Type of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: To promote the Artic Monkeys and their new song What's Inspirational? I like how the video is filmed in a car the whole video but it is made interesting because different members from the band hold the camera and film different things. Its simple but creative with how they do it.

Alt-J Breezeblocks

Genre: Pop Type of Video: Conceptual Purpose of Video: To promote Alt-J and their new song What's Inspirational? The video is quite random and does not have very much to do with the song much like love lockdown. However the video is interesting because it uses slow motion and reverse affects.

Imagine dragons – Radioactive

Genre: PopType of Video: Performance Purpose of Video: To promote Imagine Dragons and their new song What's Inspirational? I like the Lighting and general mise on scene of the video. It has quite a dark theme.

Why did they inspire me?

• All the videos were very creative and different from most of the other videos I watched

• All the videos used interesting affects and editing, for example breezeblocks video used slow motion and rewinding which made the video unique and interesting.

• In all the videos especially Love Lockdown there is lots of different lighting going from dark to bright lighting so it makes it interesting to watch.
