I started creating my magazine cover cutting out the background on my main image. I did this by using the Lasso tool and feathering the image.

I made the background by inserting a shape tool and filling it white with the bucket.

I made the masthead and cropped out the edges. I decided to keep the image in front of the masthead as that is the most important part.

I then put a selling point at the top of the tape in a black strip so it stands out.

I also put the images for the coverlines so it attracts the readers.

I included coverlines. I wanted the colours to fit with the images and colours of the rest of the cover.

I thought of a price based on research and also put in a date so it goes along the codes and conventions.

I finally added a bar code at the bottom so it looks more like a music magazine cover.
