Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an expression of interest and concern in how companies respond to the agenda for corporate citizenship. Different organizations have framed different definitions on corporate responsibility - although there is considerable common ground between them – the management of companies’ business processes to produce an overall impact to society.

MFI scholar & employee volunteers, help in the sorting and repacking of the relief goods at the DOE Covered Court, Merritt Road, Fort Bonifacio Col. Alex Escaño, MFI president, coordinated for LCF with Southern Leyte Governor Rosette Lerias and other LGU officials, obtained the master plan for the rehabilitation, relocation and other needs of the province. With the mandate from LCF president Bobby Calingo and in consultations with Malu Erni. Organized the collective effort of LCF members, other NGOs and government institutions for assistance and livelihood projects in LEYTE.

10. Mirant Philippines Foundation*

Created a Rehabilitation Fund - P6 million Relief goods donated in partnership with PASAR Foundation – P200,000 Held medical mission at Toledo, Pagbilao on Feb 28, 2006. Medical consultation & medicines to at least 150 victims on March 1, 2006 Counseling services to 20 victims

Fielded volunteers for sorting and repacking at the DOE /Petron logistics center

Relief operations through Retail Business (Visayas Sales Region) and Shell Dealers Assoc. Shell Dealer of St. Bernard was the focal point of relief operations in the area for goods and cash received from various publics, Shell Dealers Association of Cebu and other donors enjoined by Shell; funds and goods were directly given to the local relief centers Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp (PSPC)-Retail contributed P.01/liter of its sales from Feb 17-28, 2006 Mobilization continues for donations from employees of PSPC and SPEX thru Project Better World and Project Malasakit corporate volunteerism programs Shell Philippines Exploration (SPEX) and the Malampaya Joint Venture together with PSPC consolidated resources for rehabilitation work

16. PLDT / PLDT Foundation / First Pacific Co., LTD / Indo Food/SMART Communications

• Released initial relief operations fund – P200,000• Pooling of community rehabilitation fund from the following: First Pacific Co. Ltd., Indo Food, PLDT, PLT Foundation Inc., and Smart Communications – P10 million• Free Smart telecoms services provided at site

17. Ronald McDonald House Charities

Donated 200 sacks of rice Delivered to DOE facilities in a 40-footer truck the goods collected from all their branches Accepted in all McDonald's branches nationwide donations for canned goods, water, clothes, medicines and cash in coordination with NDCC, DSWD, Red Cross, ABC-CBN Foundation and GMA7 Kapuso Foundation

18. Roxas Gargollo Foundation

• Cash and in-kind donation from employees of CADPI and CADP Group Corporation

19. San Miguel Corporation

Safety First distilled water donated 200 cases of coca-cola products PureFoods canned goods products – P103,392 Conducted an employee drive for the landslide victims.

20. Splash Foundation

Offered their Valenzuela Facilities as a depository for donations in kind before ship out via Aboitiz Foundation Offered transport services to ferry the consolidated items to Aboitiz for shipment to the Visayas Donated 50 cases of 350 ml bottled water and 10 sacks of rice

21. Tan Yan Kee Foundation

• Sent a 22-man rescue team composed of PAL mountaineers •PAL provided free cargo for disaster relief goods •Loaned 2 helicopters for rescue and relief operations•Donated relief goods and 20,000 bottles of distilled and mineral water from Asia Brewery Inc.•In cooperation with the FFCCCII (Filipino Chinese •Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc.), committed to build 5 two-classroom schoolhouses to replace the school buried by the mudslide and also save P1,000 for each of the 410 survivor-families identified as of afternoon of Feb 20, 2006•Committed to help future rehabilitation of the area and its residents

Non-food kits (mats, mosquito nets, blankets and t-shirts) – P100, 000 Donated medicines and assisted in post-disaster rehabilitation
