• PURPOSE• Hi this is your host Mariel.

In this episode I will talk about a traditional celebration in Mexico, named “All Saints Day”.I will also explain the meaning of the offering, and what are the basic things mexicans put.The days we put this altar and some other interesting thngs

• We believe our relatives come every November to visit us, in every house where there´s an offering to take only the smellings of this food, fruits, and everything we put in the offerings.

• We put cempazuchitl, ´cause is the one curious flower that grows in Mexico in this month, and it has a special smelling that perfumes all the offering.

• Also we put water because some people say that this spirits come tired of the big traveling they do to come with us.

• We put salt, to scare the bad spirits, so that they can´t enter to your house.

• We put candles to guide this

spirits to the offering

• Never forget the photos,

because it’s a way to remind

your dead relatives, to tell

them that you never forget

them, like a tribute.

• Chopped color paper,

maybe as a blanket

and to give more

color to the offering.

• Candies and toys,

because if they

are kids and maybe

some babies, I

believe they want

to play any game

and eat many candies.

• November the first- only this day comes the kids, babies and young people that had died.

• November the second- only it day comes older people, like adults that unfortunately died.

• October the 31th- this is a catholic belief because some persons think people who died in accidents and people who died without being baptized are coming this day to visit their relatives and do the same as the spirits of people who come in November the first and November the second
