Point Barrow, nine miles northeast of Barrow, is the most northern point in North America - as far north as you can get and keep your feet dry. Whale bones and bones of other animals litter the beach. Remnants of old Inuit culture of the Thule people have been found in the area, where the settlement of Nuvuk took place.
