This will affect my magazine because

• I will have to use suitable terminology

• Colour scheme will be affected by my research

• Price (free) • Imagery

PRIMARY TARGET AUDIENCE

SECONDARY TARGET AUDIENCE

CONSTRAINTSThe IPSO is the new independent newspaper and magazine regulator for the UK. They took over from the PCC on the Monday 8th September 2014. They hold the highest standards of journalism by monitoring and maintaining the standards set out in the editor’s code of practice. The IPSO set out rules and regulations that must be followed by the media industry. These are the following rules that are going to effect my magazine making process.

Harassment and Trespass:Journalists and photographers must not engage in intimidation, trespass or persistence to find information or take photographs. Permission must be given from the land holder and models to ensure that we stick to the codes. If unable to gather information due to the circumstances new models and locations will be found. This rule will only apply to the images that I am taking outside as the rest of my images will be taken in a hired studio with hired models.

constraintsCopyright: gives those who create something the power to protect there work from being copied or used by other people, this can turn into a legal matter if the Copyrights, Designs and Patent act 1998 is breached. I will source all of the information that will be published in my magazine threw research and interviews. The ‘up and coming photographer’ will have there work published in my magazine, in the small print on the entry form they are required to grant permission for my magazine to use there images if they are successful.

constraintsChildren: All of my studio models are over 18. when taking photographs outside I do not want people in my images therefore no one under the age of 18 is going to feature in my magazine. This means that I do not have to get parents permission to take images as I will already have a written contract with the models that have been employed to take part in the shoot.

constraintsDiscrimination: When I am taking my images I will be using the models that I have employed, when choosing my models I have took into consideration my target audience. The location of my images will differ from city’s to towns and more rural areas.

UPSMY UNIQUE SELLING POINT:

My research has found that generic photography magazines are aimed at an older and higher socio economic target audience. This allowed me to find a gap in the market for a less formal, photography magazine with a younger audience. When carrying out my research I asked WOULD YOU BUY A PHOTOGRAPHY MAGAZINE THAT WAS ALREADY AVALIBLE? And why? I received comments like ‘the technical language is to had to understand’, ‘it is far to expensive and out of my budget’ This gave me an idea to come up with cheaper more understandable alternative!

PhotogaphieI decided on this name because I wanted something obvious but slightly different, the first recorded photograph was taken in France, hence the reason I have translated ‘photography’ into French.
