USOSExpressa ações que estão ocorrendo na atualidade.
I am working on a project.
Expressa ações que estão ocorrendo no exato momento em que se fala. Pode ser usado com: now, at this moment, at present (time adverbs).
He is making posters now.
Pode expressar ações futuras. Geralmente usado com: next week, tomorrow, etc.
I am going to Caruaru next weekend.
ORTOGRAFIAGeralmente os verbos não sofrem modificação ao receber ing.
Work – working try – trying agree – agreeing ski – skiing
Terminação em um único e, perde o e ao receber ing.
Love – loving have – having Mas: be – being
Terminação em ie mudam por y ao receber a terminação ing.
Die – dying tie – tying lie – lying
Teminação consoante + vogal + consoante, dobra-se a última consoante e acrescenta-se ing se a última sílaba for tônica.
Swim – swimming begin – beginning run – running occur - ocurring

Verbos terminados em Y precedidos de consoante, troca-se o y por IES.
