1 Bai Chay Beach

This artificial sandy beach is 500 metres long 500 metres wide with a low level range of hills that slope gently toward the sea, making it a popular place for sunbathing, swimming and picnicking.

2 Bai Tu Long Bay

Bai Tu Long is in the northeast of, and has remained an unexplored area of, Halong Bay. It is often thought even more stunning than main bay itself, as it has only just started being seen as a destination for travelers.

3 Cat Ba Island

The largest island in the bay and about half of its area makes up the Cat Ba National Park. This is home to the incredibly beautiful and highly endangered Cat Ba Langur. Cat Ba is the main island of the 367 that make up the 260 square kilometer Cat Ba Archipelago.

4 Co To Island

This is one of the best off the beaten track destinations in Halong Bay. It’s actually an archipelago located in the Gulf of Tonkin. It is a great location for swimming, but is also loved for its parks, natural forests, lighthouses and statues of Ho Chi Minh. It has a delightful wharf, fishing village and bay.

5 Vung Vieng Village

The village is located is found 24km from the mainland, in the middle of Bai Tu Long Bay. A peaceful location with really beautiful scenery, the traditional culture of fishermen living here is fascinating to see. They are more than happy to show you how to use a fishing net or rod.

6 Sung Sot Cave

Its name means the surprise cave and it is the largest and most spectacular in Halong Bay. The entrance is high up on a rock face and the climb rewards visitors with wonderful views of the bay. There are many stalagmites, stalactites and columns and the cave is lit by artificial light.

7 Thien Cung Cave

The “Heavenly Cave” is located on the south-west side the Halong Bay, just 4km from the wharf at Ha Long City. Getting to it is a tricky walk, surrounded by thick forest. Upon entering through a narrow gateway, the grotto’s large main chamber opens up. Again this is a really superb example of a cave and has many stalagmites and stalactites.

8 Ti Top Island

This got its name from Russian cosmonaut Gherman Titov who visited Halong Bay in 1962. It is located about 14 km east of Bai Chay Beach. The island is a popular tourist destination and the beach here is very beautiful; the perfect place to cool off when the heats get too much.

9 Tuan Chau Island

This lovely island is covered by pine forests and has an area of 2.2 km². To the east and south there are two man-made beaches which have very white, fine sand. Recently Tuan Chau Island has become one of the main tourist destinations in Ha Long bay

Ba Be National Park

Located about 240 km to the northwest of the capital city Hanoi, in Bac Kan Province, Ba Be National Park is a nature reserve that was created to protect the freshwater Ba Be Lake and the surrounding limestone and lowland evergreen forests. It is a beautiful place to visit.
