PRESIDENTIAL TURKEY TOUR North Trail Elementary November 17, 2011

Students in 1st and 2nd Grade learned about turkeys and evenmet a 45 Pound Tom Turkey!

Steve Olson, Executive Director of the Minnesota Turkey Growers Association answered questions.

The presentation provided facts about turkeys in general and Minnesota’s selection for the Presidential Turkey program!

Dr. Steven Geis, North Trail Principal helped lead the discussion.

Improving nutrition and student health is a goal.Water is offered with flavors such as lemon or cucumber.

This turkey is ready for primetime! When the cover was lifted the bird kept his cool. Could the pardon be in his future?

Olson explained that the turkey that gets pardoned by President Obama will live out its life at Mount Vernon, the home of President

Washington.

Cameras were out in force to capture images and video from the event to share with others!

A unique learning experience filled with facts to share with family over a Thanksgiving meal next week.
