planet over the last 20 years do justify the phrase.

Here’s just some of the exciting things I’ve recently done - all for free - and there’s no reason why

you can’t do the same.

MOROCCO

On a trip to Morocco with a new airline, I was given the front row of the aircraft to myself.

And when I say the whole row, I mean BOTH sides of the aisle!

This was done to ensure I had complete privacy, whilst the airline’s top stewards really looked

after me with the best food wines and entertainment.

After we landed, I was made buy a delightful lady from the Moroccan tourist board.

She came on board the aircraft, the crew having kept the “class-divider” curtains behind me

closed.

She took me down the steps of the aircraft, just the 2 of us, and onto a waiting minibus.

We drove all of 30 yards to the VIP security, where she handed my passport to a very smartly

dressed border guard, who saluted me!

He said, with a genuinely welcoming smile ‘Welcome to Morocco, Sir!’

So now we went back to the same minibus and onto my five-star hotel. I suddenly asked ‘what

about my luggage?’

My new friend merely smiled and said “already on board Sir!”.

To this day, I don’t know how they did it, but somehow my bags were marked at my departure

airport “express” or “CIP” and loaded into the minibus before the steps had even reached the

aircraft.

That’s the sort of service I’ve now become used to!

(Aside: “CIP. Thought you’d never ask! You’ve probably heard of VIP, “very important person”,

yes?

CIP is far more important. This stands for “commercially important person” and is also often seen

on your tickets when you’re travelling as a travel writer.

This is so the check-in staff can upgrade you to the lounges etc and is also emphasised on the

passenger lists. The aircraft crew, including the pilots, get these for each flight.

This system means everyone knows that you are commercially important to the airline).

As you can imagine, this make sure you are always exceptionally well looked after!

I could talk for pages about the country of Morocco, one of my favorites, and how welcoming

everybody is.

However that’s not the purpose of the book as I want you to explore this and every other country

for yourself - but it’s a good example of a country that isn’t why any means wealthy, but which

relies on people like you and I writing about them and encouraging other visitors.
