After short transferwe reach Don Sai Village where we meet ourvillage guide and start trekking into junglefollowing hunting trails of the locals. Along thetrails the village guide would help us to learnabout plants and animals. Picnic lunch is servedon the trail. At the Khmu forest camp our villageguide and villagers will show us how to collectwild vegetables for dinner. We cook dinner over an open fire with Khmu hosts. 2. www.goasiatravel.comDay 2: Khmu forest camp - Akha forest camp (B, L, D)We wake up early for bird watching if you wish. We could help villagers to cooktraditional Khmu breakfast. After breakfast we head to Akha Camp through the Nam Hajungle. The village guides will go ahead of us to prepare a picnic lunch for us in theforest.In the afternoon we reach Akha Camp. We would cook and have dinner with the villageguide. You enjoy the quite evening in the village.Day 3: Akha Camp - Ban Nam Mat May Village - Peang Ngam Village (B, L, D)We get up early before breakfast to go to the hunting site where our Akha guide wouldshow us how he calls wild birds in. If we really want to see the birds, we have to act likea hunter. We return to the camp to enjoy an Akha breakfast prepared by our village guide.After breakfast, we start trekking through jungle until lunch time. Picnic lunch is servedby a stream.After lunch, we continue trekking to Ban Mat May passing rice paddy fields and then onto the village of Peang Ngam, a Black Thai village where we spend tonight in a localhouse.Day 4: Peang Ngam Village - Ban Nam Lai Village (B, L, D)Today, we head to the heart of Nam Ha Nation Park. On the way, our village guide willshare with us his knowledge of fauna and flora of the forest and also culture of his ethnicminority group. You have picnic lunch in jungle. After lunch, we hike a mountain beforereaching Nam Lai village of the Akha. Tonight we stay in another forest camp near thevillage.Day 5: Nam Lai Village - Ban Chaluen Sook Village (B, L, D)After breakfast, we hike through rice paddies and along a stream until we encounterjungle again. The village guide is sure to have more stories of the nature and culture ofthis area to share with you. The stream leads us to Nam Yen Waterfall where we willAfter lunch, we continue trekking in the jungle until we reach the Chaluen Sook Villageof the Khmu ethnic minority. You have dinner and overnight at home stay in ChaluenSook village.Day 6: Ban Chaluen Sook - Ban Nalan Village - Ban Nam Goy Village (B, L, D)You enjoy breakfast at the home-stay, after that we follow jungle trails and trek towardmountain ridge. We may encounter villagers going to or coming from market. You havepicnic lunch on the way. In the afternoon, we descend toward the Ban Nalan Tai Villageof the Khmu ethnic minority. You will stay overnight in Forest camp.Day 7: Ban Nam Goy Village - Ban Hot Yawng Village - Luang Namtha (B, L, D)After breakfast, we trek along the bank of theNam Ha River before we cross the river onbamboo raft. Continue trekking in jungle towardBan Hot Yawng Village. Picnic lunch isprepared by the village guide. As we approachthe Ban Hot Yawng Village we pass ricepaddies and would see farmer working on theirpaddies.From Ban Hot Yawng Village, we will return to Luang Namtha by either motor boat ortruck depending on the season. The option of returning by river is by traditional motorboat operated by villagers. If returning by truck, the road may be a bit rough and a littledusty. You go back to Luang Namtha in late afternoon. Tour ends.Note: Return by boat may not be possible from March - June and a return by truck maynot be possible from July - September.Trip Notes:Food: All meals, which are indicated in the itinerary, are included in the price of this trip.In big towns we will enjoy Laotian cuisine in fine restaurants. Once we travel away frombig towns, the emphasis will be on healthy and nutritious fresh local produce. Pleaseinform us at the time of booking if you have any special dietary requirement.Home-stay: Home-stay in villages is basic in term of bedding condition and toilet. Wewill stay overnight in the traditional house of the locals. We will be provided withmattress, clean sheet, pillows and mosquito nets. Toilet could be some steps away fromthe house.Tour guide: The tour will be guided by our local tour guides who are experienced inguiding adventure tours. They have been carefully trained in their specialized field. Theyare also fully licensed in tour guiding by the government. In addition, they have beentrained in first-aid and they know how to deal with difficult situations. You will have agreat time traveling with them.The trekking day: A typical trekking day starts at about 8.00 am or 8.30 am afterbreakfast. Lunch times can vary depending on the distance. We aim to reach the nextovernight stop by 4.30 pm or 5.00 pm.
