I created a brochure on different kid and family friendly places in town to go on a day trip. I also made a prezi to show the steps I took to create the brochure.

The Product

I made the brochure by taking pictures, getting information, etc. and compiling it together. I made it during my free time, on weekends, and seminar periods at school.

How? When?

People Who Contributed

A major help throughout this process was my mentor Tarshi McCoy. She was there to give advise and helped me to get the brochure printed and distributed. Another person whocontributed her time was Lauren Leggett, my GP advisor who

kept me up to date with deadlines

andmade sure I had my product

done on time.

Plus/Delta of GP

+ ∆

I knew what I wanted to do and didn’t waste any time coming up with a topic.

With the topic I chose, doing a product to give back to the community was semi difficult.

I met all the deadlines for my paper and was done in time to have Spring classes.

It was hard to balance the high school work we have as Juniors, college class work, and meet GP requirements at the same time.

I found a mentor quickly, and she was very enthusiastic to get started.

Procrastination

Focused: when I sat down to do the work, I could actually get a lot done at one sitting.

Stress and the feeling of being overwhelmed.

Future Plans/Applications

My future plans for travel are just to continue it. It’s an

avid hobby of mine and something Im glad I was

exposed to at a young age. I will in the distant future,

take my kids on trips to expose them to different

environments because I think there’s no better way to

open a child’s mind then to show them the world first

hand. I would also love to get a job that requires me

to travel, that is actually ideal for me because I love

seeing new places.
