Graag vertel ik u over onze visie en plannen voor Schiphol Centrum De afgelopen 2 jaar zijn we als Schiphol en Schiphol Real Estate een nieuwe koers ingegaan We spreken over ‘Creating Preferred Airports’ en ‘Creating Preferred Locations’ Schiphol als een hoogwaardige, innovatieve en duurzame hub. Als luchthaven en als vestigingslocatie. Een locatie die reizigers en bedrijven verkiezen boven andere luchthavens en locaties om te reizen en te werken en verblijven. Dat onderscheidend vermogen realiseren we onder meer met een nieuwe visie en activiteiten voor onze business parks op Schiphol: we bieden hoogwaardige bedrijfshuisvesting, vernieuwende services en bovenal een werkomgeving die het werken en verblijven op Schiphol veraangenamen. Voordat ik u hier meer over vertel neem ik u graag eerst mee op een reis door de tijd van de ontwikkeling van Schiphol van luchthaven naar AirportCity

Het business model van Schiphol Group kent vier kernactiviteiten: Aviation, Consumer Products & Services, Real Estate en Alliances & Participations. Gezamenlijk bepalen zij het succes van Schiphol als mainport en hub. Schiphol Real Estate ontwikkelt, beheert, exploiteert en belegt in operationeel en commercieel vastgoed op en rondom luchthavens in binnen- en buitenland. Niet de winkels in de terminal 86 procent hiervan bevindt zich op en rond Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Onze grootste omzetbron is de verhuur van gebouwen en terreinen. Vandaag de dag is Schiphol een van de meest succesvolste luchthavens en business hubs in Europa: een echte AirportCity Schiphol We zijn als luchthaven vorig jaar gestart met grootschalige verbouwingen in en om de terminal en investeren hiermee in kwaliteitsbeleving om onze sterke concurrentiepositie te behouden. Hiermee willen we ook klaar zijn voor de toekomst. Zodat we straks klaar zijn om de groei van het luchtverkeer, vooral vanuit het Verre Oosten en Zuid-Amerika, op te vangen, en onze rol van gateway to Europe te behouden en versterken We hebben het dan over een verwachte groei van 1 miljard meer passagiers in 2017 ten opzichte van 2012.
