The Grade 10 field trip to Carita is fast approaching. This exciting excursion to West Java will take place from Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1, 2009. While in Carita, students will enjoy a variety of activities that allow them to explore the diverse natural wonders in this region. Students will share in a range of activities including snorkeling, sailing, an overnight boat trip and guided ecotour of Ujung Kulon National Park and a day visit to Anak Krakatau. Accommodation will be in comfortable beachside villas at Mutiara Carita and the Rangers’ Lodge in Ujung Kulon.
Prior to our departure from Jakarta, we need to know how many students plan on joining the NJIS trip. Please remember that it is expected that all Upper School students will attend. Please take the time to fill out this form and return it to your child’s Advisor no later than Wednesday, February 25, with a copy of your child’s passport or KITAS.
The approximate cost of the Carita trip is Rp. 4,500,000 per student. This fee will cover expenses including the bus, accommodation, three meals a day and activity and transportation fees. Students will need to bring additional spending money for snacks, souvenirs, and other incidental expenses, eg. equipment hire. Rp. 500,000 should be plenty for this.
If you would like more information about this trip, we invite you to attend our Information Night on Wednesday, February 25, at 6 P.M.
As the trip date approaches, we will send additional forms and details on what to pack, including a checklist of required and optional items needed.
