Government and Politics of Andaman and Nicobar Islands
The government and politics of Andaman and Nicobar Islands operate in a way that is slightly different from the governance of most states and Union Territories of India.There is no presence of legislature in the government.The Lieutenant Governor is himself the executive head in the government of Andaman and Nicobar.The state judiciary falls under the supervision of the Kolkata High Court.
FESTIVALS OF ANDAMAN & NICOBARISLAND TOURISM FESTIVAL(Months : December - January) The festival comprises an exhibition, cultural programmes, competitions, etc. Government agencies and private entrepreneurs from the islands and mainland India also attend the exhibition organized during the festival.SUBHASH MELA(Month: January ) Subhash mela is organised in Havelock Island every year on the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. Its a week long festival filled with cultural programmes.VIVEKANANDA MELA(Month : January) Vivekananda Mela is organised at Neil Island to celebrate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
Get inThe Island can be reached by Air or Sea.By air the island is connected to New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, etc.Major Airlines are Indian Airlines, Spice Jet, Indigo, Jet Konnect and Go air.By Sea, the island can be reached from Chennai, Vishakpatnam and Kolkata.
