Automated Testing differs from manual
testing in a way that humans do the manual
testing running each of the functionality.
While automated testing is done using
automated tools. These tools feed the test
data into the system on which the test is
executing, it compares the test result with
the desired (actual) result and on the basis of
result, and it develops the report in detail.
Automated testing is important because:
It saves time as manual testing is time
consuming.
It is cheaper as compared to manual
testing.
Multilingual sites are easily tested using
automation.
Tests can be performed long hours.
No human interference is required.
Results will be accurate.
Test can be performed at a higher rate.
More tests can be performed in a day as
compared to manually.
Test automation is preferable to:
1. Highly risky test cases.
2. Test cases that require repetition.
3. Difficult to perform manually.
4. Test cases that require a large investment of
time.
Test automation not preferable to:
1. Test cases those are not undergone manually
even once.
2. Cases that are designed newly.
3. Ad-hoc basis test cases.
