wikipedia works perfectly. it’s simple, uncluttered u.i. allows

millions of peple to quickly find the information they want. it

works so well, in fact, that people tend to take it for granted.

we can change people’s apathy into appreciation by showing

them the alternative to the non-commercial

wikipedia we all love

the wikipedia.org url is often mistakenly entered

as wikipedia.com. wikipeida owns wikipedia.com but

currently it simply re-directs the user to the proper

wikipedia.org adress. this is a wasted oppertunit y for

communication.

since “.com” stands for commerical, lets show the user what

wikipedia will be like if people stop donating and it has to go

commercial. garish banner ads, annoying pop ups, a phantom

voice telling you you’ve won a cruise... in short it would be

horrible: wikipedia would be unusuable.

well let the utter horror of this sell-out, bizzaro wikipedia

soak in for about 5 seonds before a simple overl ay appears

that asks the user to consider making a donation to keep

wikipedia non-commercial and ad free, with a button to

redirect them to the real wikipedia.
