EXECUTION IS ONE OF THE BEST STRATEGIES IN OPERATION.INDIANS CONFUSE ARTICULATION WITH ACCOMLISHMENT- N.Murthy

Lever operation

ResourceTime, Money, Manpower

Resource:-Time/Money,man power

Impact highest

Impact- Lowest

Optimum usage of resources which is limited

Example:-Rs 5000 where to put to get maximum productivity:-Tools, outsourcing,Extra hours-OT, etc

Try to see the unseen levers around you to optimise the use

Some learnings-------• Companies fail not in strategy formulation but in their

execution.• Excellence is in simplicity.• No one has excelled without one attribute- That is

enthusiasm and boldness.• We should do what is required not what we LIKE AND

COMFORTABLE WITH. Should not get onto “honey trap”.- Story of ring

• Most of the times we end up using our most scarce resources for doing unnecessary things. Identification of levers

• It is not important who is right but what is right.• Nature “ABHORS VACUUM”.• Should not miss the wood for the trees. to balance

between process and results.• Time management is a reflection of time management-

15-30 min from singapore airport reflection of a country

TO KNOW SELF

• KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW• KNOW WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW• DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU KNOW• DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW

ASK A QUESTION TO YOURSELF

ARE YOU DOING THE RIGHT THING AT THE RIGHT TIME WITH RIGHT RESOURCES.

‘Doing some thing always mean not doing something else at a cost’-

So prioritization has a big role toplay and hence – 80:20 rule.

If you can do with a pencil don’t try to get a complicated pen- don’t waste your resources.

One day, a small opening appeared on a chrysallis (butterflies make a chrysallis and moths make a cocoon); a person sat and watched for the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.Sometimes the struggle has a purpose.........

Page 10: Prioritization & execution

Then, it stopped and did not appear to be making any  progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could                                   and it could not go any further. So the person decided to help the butterfly:

With a pair of scissors,             the person opened the chrysallis.                        The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a withered body,                         it was tiny and had shrivelled wings.

Page 12: Prioritization & execution

The person continued to watch, expecting that,                         at any moment,

the wings would open,                      enlarge and expand,

to be able to support the butterfly's body,                       and become firm.                     It never happened!

In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life              crawling around with a withered body

                        and shrivelled wings.

It never was able to fly. .

SUCCESS IS NOT A DESTINATION BUT CONSISTENCY OF THE PURPOSE AND IS A JOURNEY.

• Environment - Tertiary treatment of ETP Discharge water through RO system for reuse.- Reduce water usage in process through measurement of quantity. - Reduce power consumption through operational discipline and technology.

– Water Neutrality Project – Rainwater Harvesting – continuous monitoring.– Steam Audit on distribution loss minimization.– Energy Conservation: DG and HVAC efficiency.– 3 R- Reduce, Recycle and Reuse.

understood. First step in solving the problem

is defining the problem. Identify the
