• Born on July 27th, 1881 in Hoechst, Germany• Got a degree in chemistry at University of
Marburg in 1904• In 1908 received and MD at University of
Munich
• Won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1930.• “for his researches into the constitution of
haemin and chlorophyll and especially for his synthesis of haemin.”
• Or: Fischer established the connection between bile pigment and blood pigment.

• Born in Karlbo, Sweden in 1864• Studied at University of Uppsala and received
his degree in literature in 1898• Karlfeldt was recognized as a poet in 1903
• Received Nobel Prize for Literature in 1931 posthumously
• Refused prize in 1918 when first won• Best known for his poetry
• He was born on December 26th, 1872 in Holbeach, England
• Influenced by authors Spencer, Huxley, Voltaire, Darwin and his sister Carrie
• In 1909, published a small book- Europe’s Optical Illusion
• He was an economist and worker for world peace
• Won Nobel Prize for Peace in 1933• He pushed unity after World War II
• Born on September 6th, 1893 in Budapest, Hungary
• In 1911, he was enrolled in a medical University
• World War I spent many years in the Austrian army and deliberately wounded himself
• “for his discoveries in connection with the biological combustion processes, with special reference to vitamin C and the catalysis of fumaric acid”
• Or: He discovered the process of combustion between a product and a catalyst, example with vitamin C and fumaric acid
• Won Nobel Prize in 1937 for Physiology/ Medicine
