Hello I’m a lion! I’ll show you around and teach you about Taxonomy.

Kingdom

This is Kingdom or Animalia. For this I chose a mouse, a jellyfish, and a cheetah.

FUN FACTS!!!Kingdom is the largest units of biological classification. Animals have more than one cell. There’re more than 1 ½ million kinds of animals alive today. The number of kingdoms has changed over time, as scientists have learned more about how species are related to each other.

Kingdom

Phylum Class

Order Family Genus Species

PHYLUMThis the second one of animal classification we all call it Phylum or Chordata. For our animals we choose a snake, a bird, and a falcon.

Phylum is the second largest of the animal classification. For the animal, bacteria, and archaea kingdoms, taxonomists generally use the term Phylum. Phylum is used for classifying plants. Human beings and all other animals with backbones belong to the Chordata. Animals with backbones are called vertebrates.

CLASS

This is the third one of the animal classification. This is called Class or Vertebrata. For this one I chose a deer, a seal, and a fish.

FUN FACTS!!!!!Class is the third

largest of animal classification. Class has similar characteristics like with Phylum and Kingdom. Mammals have fur or hair on their bodies and feed milk to their young. Reptiles are covered in scales and lay eggs.

Phylum Class

Order Family Genus Species

ORDER

This is the fourth one in the animal kingdom. It’s called Order or Mammalia. For this I chose a leopard, a fox, and a cat.

Order is the fourth largest of the animal kingdom. Dogs and raccoons eat animal flesh. They’re called Carnivores. Moles and shrews eat insects.

FUN FACTS!!!!

Order Family Genus Species

FAMILY

This is the fifth from the animal kingdom. This is called Family or Carnivora. For this I chose a Leopard, a Snow Tiger, and a Tiger.

Family is the Fifth largest in the animal kingdom. Most animals have bushy tails. They also have short haired tails.

Phylum Class

Order Family Genus Species

GENUSFUN FACTS!!!

This is Genus or Feliformia is the sixth of the animal kingdom. For this I chose a cheetah, a puma, and a snow leopard.

Genus is the sixth from the animal kingdom. Most animals can’t breed with other animals. All animals are likely to breed. For example dogs and cats breed.

Order Family Genus Species

SPECIESFun Facts!!!

This is Species or Felidae. For this I chose my favorite animal a lion.

Species are the final in the animal kingdom. Animals in this kingdom do breed. Scientists know a little about organisms. Most animals have the same characteristics.
