In the last few years, Social Networking sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter have fundamentally changed the way a large and growing portion of the population interact. This explosion of growth has presented HR Professionals with new opportunities to recruit employees and brand their companies WHILE introducing new challenges - managing employee activity on these sites.Tom Daly will walk us all through some of the major players in Social Networking today – LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter. He will discuss their size, reach, functionality and key differences of their platforms. He will also share some popular ways HR professionals are using these platforms to recruit top talent in their organizations as well as distinguish their corporate brand from competitors. He will also introduce KODA, a local company specializing in Social Recruiting on the web and discuss the practical uses of this site for HR professionals. and territories around the world.
• A new member joins LinkedIn approximately every second,
and about half of its members are outside the U.S.
• Executives from all Fortune 500 companies are LinkedIn
members.
Some Legal Considerations (from a non-attorney!):
• A Potential “Legal Minefield”
• Title VII Discrimination - race, color, religion, sex, disability or national
origin.
• Privacy Settings Are Upheld – not strongly, general search is fair
game.
• Every Company Should Have A Policy In Place.
• Don’t use company logos.
• Don’t post sensitive company information – particularly in
regulated industries.
