Paper contracting takes 5 weeks or more for a contract to be finalized Process has essentially remained unchanged for decades The EchoSign technology enables us to move into paperless contracting:

Contract is electronically delivered to the physician for e-signature Completely secure environment that requires a password Can securely access and review the contract anywhere and anytime they

receive email (iPad, laptop, etc.) can “sign” and return it online. Physicians and UnitedHealthcare each maintain a detailed electronic

record Easier for the physician to do business and lowers the physician’s

administrative/ postage costs

eContracting pilot yielded faster results. Median contract return rate 2 days vs. 32 days paper Win-Win for both the physician and UnitedHealthcare. Physicians are “in-network” and available in a much shorter

timeframe
