Novell GroupWise® Administration

• Sticky notes

– GroupWise will create a folder called “Mobile Notes.”

– Synchronises GroupWise Client and the Notes app on the

mobile device

• Follow up Flag

– Flagged = flag is on

– Cleared = flag is off

– Completed = item is still flagged, but is marked as completed

– Shown as a task in the GWClient

User Photos

• Photos from the System Address Book

– Name completion on a user in the To/CC/BC

– Next to the sender’s name in the message list

– When displaying contacts from the System Address Book

• Will not work with Outlook 2010 or earlier

– Requires Outlook 2013

• The following will NOT work with GMS 2.1

– Hotmail Connector for Outlook 2010.

– Outlook 2011 for Mac.

– Native Mac OS Mail, Contact and Calendar applications

– Ximian Evolution

Address books

• The System Address Book is not available

• There is no SAB/GAL search capability

• Outlook does provide LDAP search capabilities

– Can search SAB through LDAP

Appointments

• Outlook has not implemented the EAS 14.0 ability to

busy search.

– Users must configure Outlook to use a global Internet

Free/Busy path to check attendee free/busy status

• Outlook does not auto-add the organizer

– The organizer needs to manually add themselves

Folders

• Online email search is not available in Outlook or GMS.

• Outlook does not have a "Notes" folder/application

– Notes from GroupWise or devices like the iPhone will not sync

• No ActiveSync support for shared items

– folders, calendars, or address books.

• Outlook does not allow posting an item to a folder

• Outlook does not allow moving items from another store

– PST, Hotmail, IMAP to ActiveSync folders.

Rules

• Can not create server side rules

– Client-side rules are available,

– Outlook client must be running for the rule to execute.

• Junk mail handling does not synchronize

• Proxy

• Sent Item Properties

• Calendar Publishing Host

• Phone messages will display in Outlook as email.

• Email Send options

– concealed subject, recipient notification, and reply requested.

• Resource management

• Meeting requests are not visible in mail folders

– Only accessible through the calendar.

• Categories do not sync

• Message recall (retraction) is not available

• Voting buttons do not work

• Outlook does not honour remote wipe requests

• Delayed message delivery, expiration and redirected

replies do not work

• Outlook does not create server-side drafts

– Not available even from other workstations running Outlook
