Creating a flexible ITS infrastructure

The EC-200D introduces a new way of creating ITS solutions in the urban

and regional road infrastructure. EC-200D is the new compact partner

of the successful EC-2. The EC-2 platform is well-known for its flexible

architecture that makes it possible, not only to make advanced programs

for traffic light control on intersections, but also to create additional

applications in the field of data acquisition, processing and control of

peripheral systems. The new EC-200D brings ITS data applications and

services created on the Peek EC-2 traffic light controller, to places where

there is need for these additional applications and services, but there is no

need for traffic control. Read the examples below.

VIP

The EC-200D makes it possible to further roll-out the successful loop-based

travel time system. While this VIP (Vehicle Inductive Profile) system already

runs on the EC-2 controller with its own loop-detectors (ED316), it can

now be extended to any other roadside location and even installed in third

party controllers.

Dynamic Public Lighting

Dynamic control of public lighting is based on actual traffic intensity and

weather conditions. A system that not only makes traffic safer, but also

safes energy. This application can be installed on EC-2 and now as a stand-

alone option on the EC-200D.

Uniformity of Interfaces

One of the challenges with different ITS roadside equipment is the

integration of different data sources and communication standards. The

EC-200D solves this problem together with the EC-2. Both platforms

run exactly the same programming environment, called EC-X. Every

protocol (OCIT, IVERA, VLOG, Alert+, RSMP) that runs on your EC-2

controller, will run on the EC-200D. The EC-200D accommodates the same

communication options as for the EC-2: 3/4G, SHDSL, WLAN, MDSL. All

drivers that are supported on the EC-2, will be supported by the compact

EC 200D.
