DAF Process

Dissolved Air Flotation is a liquid/solid or liquid/liquid separation process.

It can be used to remove fine suspended solids with density similar to

water, colloid and oil & grease etc.

Removal is achieved by dissolving air (in high pressure) in the form of tiny bubbles (10-100um for micro bubble and 10-100nm for nano bubble) in the wastewater. The micro/nano bubbles adhere to suspended matter causing the suspended matter to float to the surface of the water and form a layer which is then removed by a skimmer. The forth-free water exits the flotation tank as the clarified effluent from the DAF unit.

landscape water treatment, river clarifying and enhanced treatment)

petroleum wastewater, biodiesel and restaurant wastewater)

Outlet wastewater from biological tanks (replacing secondary clarifier),

Adventages

IAF is a technology specialized in removing high concentration oil & grease and SS in industrial wastewater. The untreated wastewater enters into an aeration segment with aeration equipment at first. The vacuum effect will be created by a high speed rotation air impeller when the wastewater is in the progress of up-flow and air sucked into the cavity of the impeller. Then the micro bubbles will be generated by attrition. The micro/nano bubbles will attach to suspend matter in the wastewater and float to the water surface. The suspended matter will be removed by special skimmer.

Adventages

SAF unit is a highly efficient shallow air flotation system adopting the “shallow tank theory” and “zero-speed principle” successfully. Under a certain pressure the air will excellently dissolve into the water until saturated.The water pressure is lowered in high efficiency air releaser, which produce high amount of micro-bubbles. The produced micro/nano-bubbles and the suspended matter attach to each other and float to the surface of the water. The suspended matter will be removed by a special skimmer. The depth of the shallow tank is only 450-600mm and HRT is about 3-5min, which will reduce retention time and improve flotation efficiency greatly.
