St. Croix Reform Church is thinking of the future. Pastor Rod Koopmans overlooks youngsters Nov. 13 at groundbreaking ceremony for a new 10 Kw wind turbine at the church on top of Kings Hill.

Church members gathered on the hill top to watch groundbreaking and sing hymns

The Energy Office’s Don Buchanan was there Sunday morning to turn a little dirt.

Some refreshments were part of the celebration.

Pastor Koopmans gives thanks for a good wind reading.

The turbine project is expected to be completed by Christmas. Funds saved on energy costs is to be allocated to church mission projects.
