Top FAQsWhy I can't select the volume I want to recover files from? The volume name may be damaged. If you cannot see the volume name you expect in the volume popup menu, try selecting the name of the drive hardware rather than the volume name. See the User’s Guide for more information.

I just have one hard drive. Can I use AppleXsoft Mac File Recovery to recover files from it?No.You must have an additional locally attached hard drive which the program can use for its temporary working storage. The drive should have free space amounting to at least 2% th e size of the volume or drive to be scanned.

Can I install and run AppleXsoft Mac File Recovery on the hard drive I am trying to restore? We highly recommend against installing or writing anything to the volume you are trying to recover files from. Doing so reduces your chances of finding your files intact. If you are trying to recover from your normal boot volume, you will need to boot from a separate drive and run AppleXsoft Mac File Recovery off of that, such as an external Fire Wire hard drive or additional Hard drive.
