Urimbirra Wildlife Park is a great place for a family bonding at Fleurieu Peninsula.

It has been open since 1975 and the word Urimbirra is an aboriginal word that means "to preserve" or to "take

care".The Urimbirra Wildlife Park is located in the Hindmarsh

Valley just five minutes from Victor Harbor. Five kilometres from Victor Harbor, South Australia along

the main Adelaide Road.

The property is rich in indigenous history and is home to aboriginal canoe trees and more. It was opened in 1975 by the local council and went private in 1992.The park sits on land with a rich Aboriginal history, which is evident in the canoe trees on the property.

There are daily koala shows, snake handling displays, crocodile feeding and you will see over 400 Australian

native animals on display.

You will see

Over 400 Australian native animals. Kangaroos, Wallabies, Red-bellied Pademelon, Echidnas, Dingos, Crocodiles, Lizard, Snakes, Pythons and hundreds of

birds throughout six hectares of wetland bird sanctuary. Also, examples of where canoes and shields were made from some of the trees by local Aboriginal groups in the

past.

They also have a kiosk and souvenir shop onsite and you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch to cook up on
