I Hate Myself for Loving You BrettFiled under: BrettFavre Comeback MinnesotaVikings Retirement

Aug 19, 2009 01:40 AM edit

This is a hard blog to write, especially for only my second post. It's really hard to wrap my head around the news that spilled out on August 18th. Brett Favre signs with the Vikings. Of course pain and anger buzzed my head like a double shot of cognac.

But with double shots come hangovers, and that is exactly what I will be experiencing for the next four months. A foggy haze of what happenedes, where did I gos and how did end up rooting for my teams rivals? What people need to realize is

that Brett Favre is a human being. Favre is the strongest competitor and gladiator ever to play his position, but even Achilles had his weakness. Favre's weakness is football. Football is his super hot, super crazy ex-girlfriend who keeps calling at

exactly the right moment to see what your doing tonight and ask if you ever think about her. Hell yes you think about her! Brett and football were together for almost 20 years and he is starting to get the itch for it again, he misses it. Most people can get away with this once or twice, but not three times. Every time Brett comes back he feels older and probably has a bit

of regret. This time he is 40 and I'm almost guarantee he will look back when he is old and say "that was probably wasn't my best choice". Unless they win the Super Bowl. I am a huge Packer fan and I am not mad. This just makes this year the

most exciting year in NFC North history. Detroit is on its road to redemption, the Bears have their new toy in Jay Cutler, the Packers are hoping to prove they don't need #4 and now the Vikings have their story. I am so excited for week four when

the cheese come into Minn and set out to put Favre on his back with a happy smile on their face. I say to the Cheese Nation not to be mad at Brett but to just understand him. Understand we all have our weaknesses and mine is loving Brett Favre.
