Should Marijuana be banned in professional Sports?

Issue

• Marijuana is currently banned in many professional sports like the NFL and NBA

• However many coaches and athletes have been quite open about their use of the drug

• Many athletes are getting fined for using it for medical purposes even under medical prescription because it is banned in the league.

• Golden states head coach Phil Kerr has admitted to his use of the drug and how it has benefitted his team. Also on how he thinks they should change the drug policies

• Many athletes are becoming addicted to pain meds as an alternative.

• Many athletes already admit to using marijuana regularly

alternative to pain killers which can become dangerously addicting.

• If Some Sports don’t have a marijuana policy why cant all sports hop on board?

• Do you think the should not ban marijuana? Especially when it is already legal in half the states as well as some other professional leagues?

• Also Marijuana is now seen to be legal in 28 states for medical use and 8 states recreationally, if it is legal in half the country why the hassle of banning it?
