  • Physical Therapy Toys and Therapy Balls Therapy tools and toys have traditionally been used in an Occupational Therapists clinical office. More recently, as parents are working around the clock to help solve their childrens therapy needs, many have tried to supplement the therapy hours with an at home clinic using physical therapy toys. One dear friend of mine bought a therapy swing, called an air walker, and screwed it into her living room ceiling! She felt it was worthwhile to have her house look like a therapy clinic and have calm children. There are many types of therapy equipment. There are therapy balls, many soothing swings, among them a trapeze bar is popular, acrobat swing, tube swing and a hammock swing all help a child learn to use his body awareness properly. As a child becomes more aware of his body and its movements he improves his flexibility and awareness in space, which in turn leads to improved sensory function. It is our greatest hope that our products help your child function in his utmost capacity.
  • Balance and Movement Toys: One of our seven senses (did you think there are only five?) is the vestibular sense. This is the awareness of the place your body is in space. A child lacking this basic sense will have trouble with his balance and movement, and might be very clumsy. Picture yourself going from a standing to a sitting position. You need to balance yourself as you move toward the center of the chair, your movement needs to be calculated as your body anchors itself in the right spot. There are many fun ways with Balance and Movement Toys to practice with a child to improve his sense of balance and movement. Try a balance beam, and as your child walks across the beam, watch if he can walk straight without falling and have postural stability. Try a therapy ball or Hopper Ball and watch as your child rolls himself, while maintaining his balance. Many love the trampolines, as their child gains confidence in a jumping movement. A Bilbo is an amazing item that children enjoy as they rock and roll. The choices are endlessCome and have fun.
  • Gross Motor Skills/Occupational/Physical Therapy: Check out the fun way to encourage your child to use his imagination and boost his creativity by building an exciting and exotic tower which uses his fine or gross motor skills as well. Usage of the fine muscles in the hand is a healthy exercise to build up strength which is so crucial for so many areas of life. Children can play with these toys for hours, which also helps build on focusing and attention span, skills so important for all areas of life. Let your child lead the way as he opens up a world of fun. Sensory Integration Toys and Games Many parents try to help their sensory challenged child with sensory toys and games. Now can you guess how many senses there are? If you are like most people your answer is five: sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch. There are two more senses which are integral to our functioning and often not thought about: vestibular and proprioceptive, our sense of awareness of where we are in space, and the feeling of our joints and muscles. When all of our senses are in since with each other we hardly take notice of it. When we notice a child lacking in one area or another we see the need to take action.
  • There is so much available material today to strengthen sensory integration dysfunction and help a child succeed. One area in a child's life that can be affected by this lack is attention and focusing. Scroll down to see our large selection of sensory toys, sensory games, sensory cushions, balls and scooters to stimulate the senses and increase concentration. You'll be amazed at the results.
