General RulesM

Must have 5 properly dressed players at game time

Teams without a goalie will play with an extra skater

There are no “playing posts” games

Goalies may play for multiple teams

Games will consist of 3 periods, each 12 minutes long There will be 1 minute between periods

Mercy Rule: a team leading by 10 goals in the 3rd period will automatically win

Players are required to wear: shoulder pads hockey skates shin pads hockey pants athletic supporter with cup elbow pads regular hockey gloves Helmets

Helmets must be approved by HECC, AHAUS, CAHA, AHA, or GHA.

Helmets must have a full face shieldWire masks can be worn as long as they have not

been cut.

Goalies must have all legal equipment conforming to USA Ice Hockey standards, including: goalie pads chest protector Glove Blocker helmets with neck protection No roller hockey pads will be allowed.

Players receiving any combination of 3 penalties (except high sticking) will be ejected from the game and the facility.

Major penalties, misconduct penalties and game misconduct penalties will all result in the player’s ejection.

Penalties from the bench will be assessed to the team’s captain.

This is a NON – CHECKING league. This infraction will be penalized as a: Minor penalty Major penalty Major penalty with ejection

(a team member remaining in the game will serve the appropriate penalty)

Unsportsmanlike PenaltiesM

All USA Hockey penalties will be called

Spearing, butt-ending, or any other attempt to harm/injure will result in an immediate ejection

Fighting will result in the immediate termination of the game, regardless of the score.

Players involved in the fight will also be ejected.

2 players penalized at the same time, but on different teams will result in a 4-on-4 situation or a 3-on-3 situation, NOT a 5-on-5 situation.

Slashing Players must attempt to play the puck with their stick Any player using their stick to slash an opponent’s body or stick will be assessed a slashing penalty.

HookingPlayers may not hook or attempt to hook an opposing player with their stick.

Hockey is strictly a NON – CONTACT sport Players cannot intentionally make contact with opposing players

Intentionally contacting an opposing player will result in a minor, major or game misconduct penalty.

The severity of the penalty will be at the judgment of the official

Holding, Tripping & InterferenceM

Players may not impede an opponent from progressing in play. Players using their hands or sticks to hold a player will be assessed a penalty

Interference will be called when a player obstructs an opponent’s movement that does not have possession or control of the puck.

Players using their body or stick to trip an opponent will be assessed a tripping penalty.

Only captains may confer with the official at any point during competition, however, neither they, nor any other player is permitted to question a judgment call.

Any players taunting or arguing from the bench area will also be subject to penalization.

Any player leaving the bench to protest or otherwise dissent against an official's decision shall be immediately ejected from the competition and the facility.
