INTRODUCTION    Assalamu  Alaikum,      Dear  Brothers  and  Sisters  In  Islam,      This   small   document   has   been   uploaded   with   the   intention   of  spreading   the   knowledge   of   Islam   and   the   teachings   of   our  Beloved  Holy  Prophet  (P.B.U.H).  The  Quran  has  been  revealed  as  a  source  of  guidance  for  the  entire  mankind  and  in  it  are  chapters  that  are  revealed  for  our  protection  and  salvation.      From  the  Holy  Quran,  there  are  two  Surahs  that  I  personally  love  due   to   the   benefits   the   reader   can   derive   from   its   recitation  especially   in   the   next   life.     These   two   Surahs   are   namely   Surah  Sajdah  (No.  32)  and  Surah  Mulk  (No.  67).      HADITHS  IN  RELATION  TO  THE  TWO  SURAHS

1. Abu  Hurayrah  (may  Allah  be  pleased  with  him)  that  Allah’s  Messenger  (sallAllahu  ‘alayhi  wa  sallam)  said,

"Verily,  there  is  a  chapter  in  the  Qur’an  which  contains  thirty  Ayat  that  will  intercede  on  behalf  of  its  reciter  until  he  is  forgiven.  (It  is):  ‘Blessed  be  He  in  Whose  Hand  is  the  dominion.’"  (Surah  al-‐

Mulk)

 [At-‐Tirmidhi  and  Abu  Dawud]

2. The  Holy  Prophet  (P.H.U.H)  has  said,

The  person  who  reads  tabarakallazi-‐biyadihil-‐Mulk  and  Alif-‐lam'meen  Tanzeel-‐us-‐Sajdah  between  Maghrib  and  Esha. The  reward(for  reading  these  2surahs)  will  be  as  though  he(the  reader)  had  stood  awake  (during  the  night  of)  Laylatul  Qadr."

 (Ibn-‐Mardawayh,  Ruhul-‐Ma'aani)

Page 4: Surah Sajda and Surah Mulk

3. The  Holy  Prophet  (P.H.U.H)  has  said,

‘There  is  a  surah  in  the  Qur’an  which  is  only  thirty  verses.  It  defended  whoever  recited  it  until  it  puts  him

into  paradise’  i.e.  Surah  al  Mulk

[Fath  al  Qadir  5/257,  Sahihul  Jamiea  1/680,  Tabrani  in  Al-‐Awsat  &  Ibn  Mardawaith]

4. Jabir  Radiyallahu  ‘anhu  narrates

That  Nabi  Sallallahu  ‘alaihi  wasallam  did  not  use  to  sleep  until  he  recited  Alif  Lam  Mim  Sajdah,  (Surah  32)  and  Tabarakalladhl

biyadihil  mulk  (Surah  67).  (Tirmidhi)

WHEN  TO  RECITE

As   narrated   by   Jabir   Radiyallahu   ‘anhu   narrates,   that   Nabi  Sallallahu  ‘alaihi  wasallam  did  not  use  to  sleep  until  he  recited  Alif  Lam   Mim   Sajdah,   (Surah   32)   and   Tabarakalladhl   biyadihil   mulk  (Surah   67).  (Tirmidhi)

Please  read  both  Surahs  after  Magrib  and  before  sleeping.

Dear  beloved  Reader,  when  we  are  put   in  our  graves  we  are  all  alone   and  only   our   deeds  will   come   to   our   benefit.  When  Allah  (SWT)  has  promised  through  the  blessed  lips  of  the  Holy  Prophet  (P.B.U.H)   of   Surah   that  will   intercede  on   the  person’s   behalf   till  the   sins   are   forgiven   and   Insha   Allah   Paradise   given,   don’t   you  think  we  should  take  advantage  of  such  benefit?

Reading   these   Surahs  will   only   take   around   10  minutes   of   your  time,  however  the  benefit  that  will  be  derived  is  priceless.

Please  do  spend  a  little  bit  of  your  time  to  recite  the  Surahs  after  Magrib,  do  educate  your  family  and  spread  this  knowledge.

PLEASE  NOTE  At  the  end  of  Ayat  number  15,  there  is  a  Sajdah  that  needs  to  be  done  and  it  is  called  Sajdah  Tilawah.

Sajdah   Tilawah   is   the   Sajdah   that   one   has   to   perform   as   an  obligatory  duty  when  one  reads,  recites,  or  hears,  in  the  prayer  or  outside,   some   specific   verses   containing   those  words.   The   Holy  Prophet,   Sall-‐Allahu   alayhi   wa   sallam,   has   observed,   "One   a  person   prostrates   himself   after   reading   a   verse   requiring   the  performance  of  sajdah,  the  shaitan  starts  crying  and  wailing   in  a  corner,   saying:   'Alas!   The   children   of   Adam   were   enjoined   to  perform   sajdah   and   they   carried   it   out,   and   become   entitled   to  enter   Paradise,   but   I   refused   to   do   so   and   was   condemned   to  Hell.'"  (Muslim  and  Ibn  Majah)

There  are  four  pre-‐requirements:

1. Purity  of  body,  clothes,  and  place  of  sajdah.  2. Covering  of  satr.  3. Turning  your  face  toward  qiblah.  4. Intention  of  performing  sajdah.

Procedure

1. Stand  facing  the  qiblah.  2. Express  the  necessary  intention.  3. Go  down  for  sajdah  with  Allahu-‐Akbar.  4. Rise  up  with  Allahu-‐Akbar  after  sajdah.

"When   you   have   recited   a   verse   requiring   sajdah   Tilawah,   you  should  go  down  for  sajdah  with  Allahu-‐Akbar  and  rise  from  sajdah  with  Allahu-‐Akbar,  which  may  be  performed   sitting,   though   it   is  preferable  to  prostrate  oneself  from  the  standing  position."  (Abu  Dawood)

Dua  in  Sajdah  Tilawah

I  have  prostrated  my  face  to  the  One  Who  created  it,  and  gave  it  hearing  and   sight  by  His  might  and  His  power.  Glory   is   to  Allah,  the  Best  of  Creators  (Tirmidhi,  Ahmad)

Even   if   you   don’t   practice   on   the   knowledge   that   you   have  received,   if  you  forward  the  message  and  if  someone  decides  to  practice  you  will  receive  the  reward  Insha  Allah.
