Last week, Morning Glory lost a member of its family. After a battle with lung cancer, Marta went

on to be with the Lord. Marta was dearly loved and will be missed by all of us. Today we want to

take the opportunity to recognize Marta's contributions to Morning Glory and God's Kingdom. The

following is a short sample of the many memories the students and staff have of Miss Marta and

her impact on their lives. We are thankful for our time with Marta and as hard as it is to move on,

we know the final words to Marta's Morning Glory Story are: "Come, you who are blessed by my

Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world."

"For others [it can be] difficult to understand how someone can dedicate their life to others

and not to themselves. “Martita” had decided to dedicate her life to taking care of her

parents and children; especially children with special needs. Academically, she achieved her

objective of attaining a Masters in attention to special needs children and her work must be

the best example of service. We will remember her as a woman dedicated to others

because of her vocation and conviction."

- Heyson Manzo

Academic Dean

"Miss Marta was a very special person in my life. I shared a lot of special moments with

her; spiritual and academic. She was always an enterprising woman; happy and above all,

realistic. She was always direct in what she said. To describe Marta, I’d say that she is and

always will be a very respected person and an example of perseverance and responsibility.

I will always have her in my heart."

- Arely Raymundo

Teacher: 6th Grade

"I remember something about Miss Marta: that she loved us and treated us well. We

always went out to recess, Miss Marta and I together and sometimes we ate [snack]

together…."- Hillary Top

"Miss Marta [was] a good coworker and friend. For me it was hard to understand what

happened. But she was a teacher who was dedicated to her students and I’m sorry she’s

not here with us. But that’s God’s plan. I miss her a lot…. "

- Paola Curup

"I remember that for the Day of the Child, she took us to Emanual Park and gave us cake

after giving us a hug. She wasn’t bad with anyone. She just tried to [help make us] good

people and thanks to her I am going to graduate from Primary School for the effort she

made."

- Yuliana Bor

Student: 6th Grade

"One year we shared the same classrooms and she would ask me if she could stay in the

classroom so she could learn and do the English exercises for her university… She was a

good student! I remember the last days. I would tell her to ask for permission to go home

but she didn’t want to leave her students."

- Zully Corzo

"She was a great example because you could see that she loved her work and her

students. They was important to her: for what was happening with them, for how they

"I remember Miss Marta as a young lady when she was a student in my English class in

Colegio San Raymundo. A beautiful girl, timid, and with some difficulty in learning. With a

lot of effort, she passed English and she graduated from Secondary School and I didn’t

think about her until 2004 when, recently graduated as a Primary School teacher, she

applied for a job at Morning Glory. Since then, Marta came to form part of the family and I

saw her grow as a person, as a teacher, and professionally. From a young lady, insecure in

herself, she grew to be a great teacher full of confidence and professionalism. She always

sought excellence and always sought the best way to do a better job: finishing her

university education as a professional in teaching special needs children….so many goals cut

short and so many unrealized dreams but in the years that God allowed her to live, she

lived completely, faithful to her principles with integrity and love for all the children that

had the blessing to have her as a teacher and mentor.”
