Text: Genesis 30:31-43

• VV 39 So the flocks conceived before the rods, and the flocks brought forth streaked, speckled, and spotted. 40 Then Jacob separated the lambs, and made the flocks face toward the streaked and all the brown in the flock of Laban; but he put his own flocks by themselves and did not put them with Laban’s flock.

People today were considering two kinds of luck!

• A: Good Luck• B: Bad Luck

Theme: It’s not because of luck but it’s because of God’s Favor

Story about a Farmer

• He owned a single Horse

• This Horse escaped and went to the Mountain

•Suddenly

• that it is a sign for a bad

luck that is about to

come.

• His Neighbor told him…

• The horse returned

with a herd of wild

horses from the hills

•A week later,

• His Neighbor again came to him and said

• “Congratulation your bad luck change it into good fortune”

• he fell off its back and broke his leg. Everyone agreed

that the coming of the horses was very

bad luck.

• Then, when the farmer’s son was attempting to tame one of the wild

horses,

• When they saw that the farmer’s son had a broken leg, they let him stay. Everyone

was very happy at the farmer’s good

luck.

• Some weeks later, the army marched into the village and forced every able-bodied young man to go fight in a bloody war.

Remember!•God’s Favor is active

in every circumstances.

What happened after the flocks have saw the Rod?

• V 41 And it came to pass, whenever the stronger livestock conceived, that

Jacob placed the rods before the eyes of the livestock in the gutters, that they might conceive

among the rods.

Numbers 21:9• 21:9 So Moses made

a bronze snake and put it on a pole (Rod). Anyone who had been bitten would look at the bronze snake and be healed.

When Moses raised his Rod the red sea was Divided!

• Archaeologist tried to

searched for the Rod of

Moses, they never

searched the one who

gives favor which is God.

What does it means of the Rod?

• 37 Now Jacob took for himself rods of green poplar and of the almond and chestnut trees, peeled white strips in them, and exposed the white which was in the rods. 38 And the rods which he had peeled, he set before the flocks in the gutters, in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink, so that they should conceive when they came to drink.

Numbers 24:17• 17 “I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter (Rod) shall rise out of Israel, And

batter the brow of Moab, And destroy all

the sons of tumult.

• 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring

you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the

Lord.

What we need to do with the Rod?

• We need to know the Real Meaning of it.• We need to put it in a Proper

Place.• We need to focus our eyes on it.

After we have done these things!

1: Receive the fruit of our labor

2: Reproduction of blessings3: Reaching our Dreams

After he discover the Rod

Conclusion• Scientifically there is no explanation

that the Rod was the reason that the flocks were conceived and born a spotted young.• Moreover, the division of the red sea

was not because of the Rod. It’s because of God’s favor!
