How to deal with new Nook DRM 2015

1. Install Nook Study

2. Sync books with Nook Study

Login your Nook account and sync the purchased books to local computer.

3. Check the Nook Study content folder

Default Nook content path for Windows: Documents\My Barnes & Noble eBooks\Your email address

Default Nook content path for Mac: Documents\My Barnes & Noble eBooks\Your email address

4. Check the Nook log file

Default Nook log file path for Windows: Users/{YourUsername}/AppData/Roaming/Barnes & Noble/NOOKstudy/logs/BNClientLog.txt

Default Nook log file path for Mac: /Library/Application Support/Barnes & Noble/DesktopReader/logs/BNClientLog.txt

5. Open Epubor program

There are 3 Epubor programs can handle Nook books:1. Nook DRM Removal – Only remove DRM from Nook books2. All DRM Removal – Remove Nook DRM, Kindle DRM, and Adobe DRM3. Ultimate Converter – Contains All DRM Removal features, also convert books

In this instruction, I take Ultimate Converter as example.

6. Change some settings

You need to change some settings at first.

Click “Help” “Settings”

Then change the source location of the Nook books. Point it to the Nook Study content folder. (Refer to step 3.)

7. Generate Nook key (Important)

Notice! This is the most important step!

Click “Tools” “Generate Nook key”.You will see a box like the image below.

At first you can click “Scan Now” in Method 1. In most cases the program can find the log file automatically.

If you see this image, then the key is already generated.

You can just ignore Method 2, just click “Confirm”.

If you see this message, then the key is failed to generate.

You can click “Browse” in Method 2, and manually find the file with file explorer.

Refer to step 4 for finding the Nook log file, or search “BNClientLog.txt” in the entire disk.

After finding the Nook log file, the box should look like this.

Then click “Confirm”.

All the preparations are finished by now.

8. Handle Nook books

The nook books should be listed in the right side column.

You can use quick import feature, or drag the books into the left side main window.

If you only need the decrypted file, you can right click on any book and choose “explore decrypted folder”.

If you need to convert format, choose an output format, then click “Convert”.

If you are using All DRM Removal or Nook DRM Removal, you shall see the green tick marks under “Status”.

Click “Remove DRM” you can find those decrypted DRM-free files.

In very few cases, the program gets stuck on a book.In you meet this problem, please use Task Manager to force close the program at first.Then find this stuck book. In the screenshot below, the stuck book is “seekinggodface…”, just find it and move it to another folder. Then process other books again.
