DESCRIPTION
A presentation with a brief description of the community history and a list of current social media assets. The Sanctuary Networking Community is the place to learn how to leverage social media networks for business and personal use in an environment where experimentation is welcome. Members can ask questions, and submit topics for live hangouts. We discuss a variety of topics including: ➤ LinkedIn ➤ Google+ ➤ Twitter ➤ Facebook ➤ B2B Networking ➤ Social Media Marketing Sanctuary is a private place where participation in discussions and hangouts is limited to community members.

What is the Sanctuary Networking Community?
Sanctuary offers a supportive, cordial community environment where there are no “dumb” questions.
In this community we are all thought influencers.
Community mission:
● The community exists to help members establish their personal and business brand and to build their influence with their clients and peers. Online and offline.
● Members can receive help with technical issues, but the underlying goal for this assistance is empowerment. Sanctuary is not a “tech support” community, it is a life support community.
Diverse global membership.● Canada● United Kingdom● Israel● Switzerland● India● Australia● Italy● Germany● Saudi Arabia● United States
Members range from sole-proprietors to C-level executives in a variety of professional fields.
Community history.
The original members transferred from the G+ community for the Disruptive Discussion Management Group on LinkedIn.
The DDMG was a private, invitation only group where the owners, managers and moderators of LinkedIn groups could discuss the spam issue.
This gives the group membership a strong background with both LinkedIn and Google+.
First community post: April 28, 2013
I had just finished creating the community and sent out the invites to the original members of the old community and Beth Browning got “first post” honors.
She was promoted to Community Moderator and has been an active member ever since.
Current member services:
Members can gain experience with “Hangouts On-Air” through participation in community hangout events.
● In 2013 there were 24 community HOAs.
● Community spotlight interviews provide a platform for members to discuss their business and personal experience. Six spotlight interviews were produced in 2013.
The community YouTube channel features member information in the description of every video.1. If a member participated in a video their G+ profile link is added.2. If a member was a primary presenter or interviewee, their profile and
blog/website link is added.
Sanctuary is a private community.
● Conversations stay in the community. Posts are not indexed by search engines.
● Posts can not be shared outside of the community.
● If a member sets community posts to show in their stream, those posts can only be viewed by other community members.

Members are vetted.
Before a member request to join is approved their social profiles are reviewed:
● Google+ profile and brand page (if listed).● LinkedIn profile.● Twitter profile.
If someone looks like a link-spammer or bot they are not admitted to the community.

Community website development.
At this time, the community calendar and live hangout TweetChat page is hosted on a landing page at sanctuary.markvang.com.
A dedicated community website is being planned for 2014. The site will create opportunities to highlight premium member spotlight interviews, with a full bio and an ad space to promote a book or webinar.
